I challenge anyone here who's anti-Locker to do yourselves a favor and scout him with the 2014 rookie prospects. You will feel totally different about drafting a QB.

    Well said

Anyone who is ready to give up on Locker based on talent. Were you fans in the mid-90s? If so then you would have been ready to give up on McNair at the same point.

Well I was a fan of this team. And McNair. And Locker is about the same place McNair was at this point. Not saying Locker will be another McNair. Not even saying we should not draft a QB high. Am saying it is still too early to give up completely.

Also, I keep very little sports memorabilia but I did keep this issue of SI:

Was so happy when I picked up a draft preview magazine and saw Floyd Reese was planning to draft Steve McNair. Despite the objections of Jeff Fisher. . . . . That's right, Fishface never wanted McNair.

Ive been talking up Jake using Steve as an example why you dont dump a guy like Jake so soon. Like you said, we owe it to ourselves to make sure he's not the guy.

Hell I even tried using Brees, Stafford, Manning, and Steve Young to show why you dont dump a Jake Locker so soon, but no one wants to see those guys all overcame their initial struggles.

They see me drop Steve Young's name and they're like "Jake Locker is not a Hall of famer" yea and neither was Steve Young at first.

Maybe locker will pan out to be the best qb we've had (I hope). The win % thing was a pretty weak argument, I'll admit. I just don't see locker being a long term qb in the league. I think he will show flashes, which he has but never get over the hump. I hope I'm wrong, I'm not a locker hater I like the guy and would really like for him to pan out, just don't see it.

Locker could be a very solid franchise QB if healthy. Someone already said it but this year is a try out for his durability IMO.

Well, we're going to find out how good he is this season, one way or the other. He'll either be healthy and competent or he get injured again. My own opinion is that if he misses more than one or two games, his career will be ended, at least with the Titans.

Brees could at least play a full season. Stafford had bad luck he was never injured in college like Jake. Jakes been hurt at every level Stafford was durable in college and twice the QB Locker was coming out. Not sure why you're bringing Manning up he was the poster boy of durability and threw 28 TD's as a rookie. Steve Young might be the best comparison you have but picking one guy who is an anomaly and hoping our QB is that next anomaly is a one in a million scenario.
