Definitely struggled as a rookie. Even worse he's a top 10 guard so he better be amazing. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt as a rookie who played next to 2 crap OL (Turner & Stewart) and had bad coaching.

This is a big year for him.

it didn't help our offense was crap... but yeah, he was also not very good. both DEFINITELY need to improve. im so happy Dowell is gone, he was not the good kind of 'young' coach for sure... Lock also wasn't very good if you ask me.

In Horton and Casey I trust...

Plenty of people graded Warmack as not only a top 10 talent, but the best guard in the draft.

It can take a while for a OL to gel. And rookie OL rarely come in and dominate the league right away. If he still grades out as a well below average guard by the end of next season, then may be you start thinking he's a bust.

I don't recall anyone laughing at the idea of drafting Warford. Most were on board with drafting him in the second if we missed on Chance or Cooper.

I still don't think it was a stupid pick. Just because a pick doesn't pan out (this one still might) that doesn't mean it's a stupid pick. We had a glaringly horrible hole at Guard and here comes a guy who is being damn near universally graded as not only the best G in the draft but the best prospect maybe ever. When you are drawing comparisons to hall of famers like Muchak without taking a single pro snap that is some really high praise and that guy (if he pans out) is certainly worthy of a top 10 pick regarless of position except maybe kicker.

I personally was all in for Jonathan Cooper but I didn't mind the Chance pick one bit and I'm not ready to move on from him. I think he'll slim down a bit and realize he's not going to just bulldoze people like he did in college.

Think about this, if we don't take Chance last year, we're looking to take a guard without nearly the upside this year. The FO loved Hunter so much last season that ignoring him in favor of drafting Warford doesn't seem realistic. Albeit minimally we upgraded one of the guard spots with a guy who at the very least will be decent and can now go BPA in this draft.

^ Revisionist history from a delusional mind.

As I remember, lots of people wanted Warford in the 2nd.
