Could you have told me Jimmy Graham was going to suck cause he had one year playing exp and 17 career catches? No. Stop acting like it set the franchise back it was a 5th round pick on a project and sometimes they work and sometimes they don't but that can't deter you from taking a project every once in a while. If Thompson was dominating right now you wouldn't be saying a word.

But he's not dominating he sucks.

You guys want throw away 5th round picks like they are candy. I'd rather try to get someone that can contribute to the team. Or use them in package deals to trade up. Not draft DEs and try to make them TEs or CBs and try to make them LBs.

He's a good/great blocker and has consistently been one of our biggest contributors on special teams since he was drafted. I don't expect much more than that out of a 5th round pick. Most 5th round picks are lucky to play out their rookie contract with the team that drafted them. Anything we get out of TT going forward is icing on the cake to me.

Yeah obviously he isn't I guess you missed the point. If you were a saints fan what would you have said about drafting Jimmy Graham?

    CBs to LBs? huh?

He's a fifth round pick how many turn into anything. At least he is an above average blocker and does some good things on ST.

Let me guess, you guys think Craig Stevens was a steal in the third round and trading away picks to move up and take Jared Cook was also brilliant?

There are scrub free agent TEs that can do what TT can do every single offseason. Why not just sign one instead of throwing away draft picks on "project TEs"?

I'm probably one of the biggest CS haters on this board. Jared Cook wasn't a bad pick. He had his best year when we had a decent QB. 2nd most yards for a TE in our teams history behind Whycheck and he did that with an old Hasslebeck. We never had a QB or competent OC while he was here and he went to greener pastures where he got vastly overpaid to play with yet another underachieving QB.

Yes blocking TE's are a dime a dozen but most have no ability other than to block. TT plays well on ST and has Jimmy Graham like measurables. I don't know if they ever pan out but he has upside if we ever get a decent QB/OC. We also have a bunch of former TE on the coaching staff so yeah I'll give him another year. He is costing us peanuts. We didn't waste a third like we did on Craig Stevens.

Cook wasn't a bad pick, good risk and it didn't pan out for us..by no means is he a bust. Stevens was definitely a bad pick.

For the first time in several years we will have an offensive coodinator who can actually concieve of using 2 tigh ends on the field at the same time. They won't both be blocking for another Chris johnson run up the middle either. Big, strong tight ends have been used all over the league to extend drives and score in the red zone. I think the Titans will try that this year.
You can't judge 2 of our 3 tight ends because they had very few chances to shine.
    Bye Bye frodo.

Based on him being 24 years old with only two years under his belt.

    Changing positions isn't easy.

Julius Thomas had ONE catch through his first two seasons. ONE.

Am I saying TT can become like Julius in the receiving game? No. But you can't tell me that it's impossible for him to come up big time to time in the passing game when he's only played TE for two seasons.

I'm the furthest thing from a homer. I have been predicting us to lose on Sundays the majority of the time since 2011. Homers pick us to win nearly every week and think we will go 11-5 each year. Odd thing is that I believe I recall you predicting an 11-5 season last year.

I just know that TT is a talented guy and there's no reason he can't be worthy of a 5th round pick.

Decent receiving TE means like 30 catches a year. Nothing huge. Just a contributor. I'm not expecting him to be a starting caliber TE.

Holy **** we have people that think Jared cook (who cost us a 2nd) was a good pick and that want to compare Taylor ****in Thompson to jimmy graham and Julius Thomas. I have read some dumb **** in my time here but this outdoes them all
