And that's my problem. If there was someone I felt I could bang the table for I'd do it. If I was in a position where someone was holding a gun to my head and made me pick one it'd be Bridgewater because he throws guys open and his footwork is good, but I'd still hate the selection.

When I look at all of the other positions there isn't really anyone who I think, "Eww, no. No. Just no." QB would be soul crushing. I'd rather just go through the Jake Locker season-ending injury and Charlie Whitehurst leading us to a top five pick in 2015.

The thing that really bothers me about Carr, is that the guy cannot play against a solid blitz and his niche was supposed to be getting the ball out early. That doesn't sit well with me, especially someone who has a cannon for an arm. Sounds like a guy who will be good against bad to average talent, and awful against good teams. Sounds like what the Bengals are going through.

yea but who would take next year?

It is a very similar situation to this years draft class. All come from quirky offenses or have character issues. Not a good era to need a QB.

Derek Carr. Perfect fit for Whiz's quick release offense.

Yeah I totally get where you're coming from. My thing though is that even if we had a top 5 pick next year there's still no guarantee we get our franchise QB with it. Lots of things can change in a year and a QB crop that many think looks great right now could end up being not so great by then. And even if it still does look great, that doesn't necessarily translate into NFL success.

QB is just SUCH a crapshoot. Of course you do your due diligence with scouting and whatnot. But at the end of the day, I think you just gotta roll the dice and cross your fingers. If FO likes Bridgewater or Carr or whoever enough to take them in the 1st then I say take them. Don't get too caught up in maximizing value (i.e. "Oooh I'd like to have him at 22, but not 11.) Maybe they don't like any of the QBs that much though. IDK. I'm not gonna be mad if we go QB at 11 though. The way I see it, for the most part these guys have as much of a chance of being "elite" as any of those guys next year. We see "can't miss" prospects miss all the time.

Right now? I'd say Brett Hundley. I want to see him be more consistent though.

Watch out for Sean Mannion though.

Personally Bortles is the QB I would take in the 1st. I love the way that he slides in the pocket.

    I absolutely agree with that.

That being said, this will be my reaction if we take a QB at 11.

i'd rather see Bortles,Johnny or Teddy over Carr but rather us not go QB in the first. Although inconsistent, I rather just see Locker try and get it together. If our D was solid, Manziel would sure be fun to watch on offense though. Who knows, maybe Carr is the real deal. Ahhhh whatever, looking forward to thursday.
