I understand it as a way to justify over valuing a trade, and getting hosed.

 

But we can trade for a 3rd in Madden!

 

9 out of 10 teams could've traded back 4 spots and got themselves a 3rd round pick.

If we still get the player we wanted before the trade at #54, then I would consider it a great trade.

I'll hold judgement until then.
