Time for Scout Changes?

    I think people are using two different opinions in the same argument here. I believe the coaching staff is committed to giving Locker every opportunity to take the QB position and own it. I don't believe he is on some short leash either, unless camp proves something different than they are expecting.

    That is a big difference from him being "the guy". Aaron Rodgers is The Guy. Brady is The Guy. Manning is The Guy. Those guys could lose a finger during a game and would be hard pressed to expect some backup to come in.

    I think if Jake struggles out of the gate and clearly is costing this team losses early one...I have no doubt we will be seeing Mett or CBJ.

    Yes. that suggests that their potential was never developed. We seem to take former pro-bowl players, blue chip draftees, 1st rounders etc that have had prior success in other systems and/or have been graded very high by various "experts" that just never perform at "star" level in our system.

    Kearse, Eddie, Wychek, McNair only ones I can think of and that was Fish and Floyd Reese.

    That suggests to me our scouting and development in combination just haven't been very good.

    Also going back 30 years is pointless. I'd like to see the numbers from say 04-05 and up. **** you could make a case for Texas and Miami being world beaters in NFL talent if you go back that far but what have they done lately.

    The GM makes the picks, so I don't think its the scouting fault. If anything, they have done a decent job of finding these small school guys that sometimes come in and do well for us.

    Not a fan of Ruston though, I liked Reinfeldt much more. It's a shame he took the blame/fall for the Titans not getting Peyton Manning.
