Leave it as is, but the NFL won't be able to squeeze out that extra money with the extra games if they left it alone, so you know it's going to happen. Just a matter of whether it happens this year of next year.

And the Titans still won't make it.

2014 - don't expand playoffs to 14 teams 12 is perfect many fans said
1990 - don't expand playoffs to 12 teams 10 is perfect many fans said
1978 - don't expand playoffs to 10 teams 8 is perfect many fans said

If certain fans had their way we'd still be playing 12 game schedules with only 8 playoff teams.

Also you are only adding one AFC team and one NFC team for a total of two extra teams and it would not dilute anything.Look at the data below plenty of deserving teams would've went including Tennessee in 2011.Sure there were a couple 8-8 teams but way more 10-6 and 9-7 teams overall.

    2008-AFC-New England 11-5 and NFC-Tampa Bay 9-7 would've made it in.

    2009-AFC-Houston 9-7 and NFC-Atlanta 9-7

    2010-AFC-San Diego 9-7 and NFC-New York 10-6

    2011-AFC-Tennessee 9-7 and NFC-Chicago 8-8

    2012-AFC-Pittsburgh 8-8 and NFC-Chicago 10-6

    2013-AFC-Pittsburgh 8-8 and NFC-Arizona 10-6

I'm all for expanding the playoffs after all its only one AFC and one NFC team added.

Where does it end though? When do we draw the line?

Unlike other pro leagues where half the teams make the playoffs, the NFL playoffs are meant to be for the elite teams. The more you add, the more scrubs you're adding. 12 is perfect. Leave it.

If it's changed to 14 it will eventually change to 16. And then 18.

    No more changes.

We have added expansion teams since then and we plan on adding more. If we like how this "feels" then we want to keep that ratio moving forward and this seem like the preparation needed if we add more teams.

If it does ever reach 16 then they better all be winning teams making it. 18 is too many with 32 teams, but 16 is as far as Id take it

I think if the team wins half their games, they should be in the playoffs. After all, think about all the money it will make for the teams hosting the game. Of course, since both went 50-50, there would have to be a drawing to see which team got home field adv. And then, we could have a playoff between the teams that lost that round and the winners could then also advance. So by the time we're done, the playoffs would be as long as the NHL's ! But all that money collected from the fans! ooohhhh!!:sarcasm:

If we expand number of teams allowed in playoffs, we should expand the regular season to 18 games.
