Yeah he sure was something that one season when he had arguably the best line in the league.

Well, in all truth, that WAS the only year he excelled. So can we conclude that if the line can't make holes, then he can't excel?

That's why I always felt he was overpaid...

No, he really doesn't. I've explained it to him many times before.

    1. Michael was signed to what can be a one-year deal worth $6 million. Fair money for a starting OT.
    2. Taylor Lewan fell beyond where a guy with his talent should have fallen so the Titans picked him.
    3. The Titans now have, at the very worst, great depth. They have competition. They have two guys who can play both tackle spots.

All he can think about is "Well you guys didn't want to pay CJ and he actually PLAYED!" He just doesn't like that Oher is getting paid more than CJ this year :biglaugh:

I was shocked to see Lewan fall as far as he did. I wish we had a chance to get Barr, he would of made an impact immediately which we cannot say for certain about Lewan. However, Barr was not there so taking Lewan was a smart move. I do wish that we would trade Roos asap and install Lewan now. I know many do not agree, but if Lewan plays RT this year or rides the bench for a year, then next year he will have growing pains when he is needed to start once Roos is gone. Just my opinion. I fully support this team & coaching staff and will give them the benefit of the doubt on this one. Maybe they see something I do not. Very Likely.

When Amano is one of the starters then it isn't the best line in the league. CJ made plenty of yards on his own. Not just by making people miss, but by using his speed. Defenders would take the normal angle that they usually would take to tackle a RB and CJ would totally make that the wrong angle because of his speed. I will grant it that CJ had some nice holes to run through, but the fact is that Eddie George would get 10 yds through the same hole that CJ would take it to the house because of the way CJ could blow up the angles.

CJ was as fun to watch as any RB in the league when he was young and hungry.

Amano wasn't nearly as terrible at guard as he was center. We had Mawae, as well as Roos and Stewart in their primes. I think you could easily make the case we were one of of the more talented/dominant lines in the league that year.

No doubt. CJ certainly did his part. All I was saying is when Mawae retired and the line took a huge step back so did his "homeless" production.

Agreed. Which is why it is a shame that he turned into such a selfish, complacent turd after he got paid.

CJ was great in 2008 as well. Don't forget his great rookie year. Without him, we wouldn't have gone 10-0 and ended with the best record in the league (even though he kind of F'd us hard in the playoffs). He was still pretty good in 2010 too. Useless after that season.

I actually bought his jersey after his rookie season and drafted him early in the 1st round in my FF league in 2009.

However, that is way in the past and I'm glad he's gone now.

No doubt. He was very, very, very good for 3 seasons. Although if it weren't for the 2K season (which we completely sold out to get him to) he would be just another dude who had a great run there for a few years.

Even though I hate the guy now, it would've been cool if he had broken the all-time record. But my god, could you imagine how freaking unbearable he would've been if he had?
