I just don't see him making the roster. Way more talent ahead of him.

please indulge me of this talent we have stockpiled ahead of Andrews? Sankey and McCluster are givens that leaves Battle/Greene/Washington.

Battle is being used at FB at the moment cause I think we realize he is a bull with no vision so he is likely in a position battle with Mooney. Washington offers nothing more than returns which makes him expendable with McCluster or Mariani. McCluster is more of a gimmick than pure hand him the ball RB. His role is the Woodhead role but I think he is not as talented when getting handed the rock compared to Danny plus the size issue of taking hits like that. His positives is getting him the ball in space. That leaves three pure RB's of Sankey, Greene and Andrews. Greene is coming off two knee surgeries which makes him a liability.

I could see a situation where we have Sankey/Greene/Andrews and McCluster who fills the RB/KR/PR/WR role. Obviously Battle/Washington/Mariani would be on the outside looking in.

Greene, Sankey, and Mccluster are locks IMO, it would take a he'll of a camp to unseat one of those three. Sankey is the safest obviously.

I personally hope Andrews shows enough to unseat Greene. I don't dislike Shonn at all but these new knee issues bother me considering his age.

Greene has excellent vision and up til the final game had a great average, he's a good RB.

I don't think he's bad but these knee surgeries are bad for his long term success here and after last season I don't trust him to be healthy. He was out when we needed him the most last season and he could have been a huge help. Antonio Andrews isn't as good as him but he is a big body and very young. I think I'd rather have him long term but this all depends on whether he shows anything in camp.

If we're looking ahead sure go with the young and hungry RB, but as for this year goes I still see Greene as a capable RB.

I simply think then "need" is greater for the talent ahead of Andrews on the roster to succeed than for Andrews to succeed. If an undrafted free agent comes in a makes the team with mediocre talent and play, then we have failed huge during the draft and free agency. There should be no "need" for an udfa. Guys like Arian Foster are the exception not the rule.

I was responding to someone saying there is a need for an UDFA to make the team. My question is why? I would argue there is a need for someone to step up and provide leadership to this team. I highly doubt that person is an UDFA.

Everyone likes an underdog and our depth at RB is sparse at best. I don't care what you say, at 5 foot 8, 170 lbs McCluster is not a RB. That leaves Sankey, Greene (by week 3 or 4 like last season) Battle and Washington.

I think we cut Battle in favor of Mooney and go with Sankey, Greene/Andrews, and McCluster as a change of pace back. We could slide Andrews to the Practice Squad when Greene comes back from surgery. Washington is a big question mark.
