That's the most short sighted myopic draft strategy ever. First of all.. We don't have Peyton manning, second, they consistently had a **** defense that entire era.

You can make lopsided moves when you have a HOF QB that can overcome the downside. We do not.

I was going to reply with essentially the same thing, but I thought the comparison between surrounding Peyton Manning with as many weapons as possible to Jake Locker was pretty self-explanatory.

And lets not forget that Manning had his blindside protected by Tarik Glenn for the first nine years of his career. Glenn was taken 19th overall in 1997.

Plus, it's not like we're ignoring Jake Locker and not giving him weapons. Kendall Wright, Justin Hunter, Bishop Sankey, Taylor Lewan and Chance Warmack. I don't think we could invest more in offense.

No one will ever get excited about this pick because no one gets excited about OL. BUT people will get excited when Locker (or whoever our QB of the future is) is making great plays because of the time he has in the pocket, or the great runs that Shankey gives us due to the excellent blocking in front of him.

The thing is, no matter how spectacular of a 'playmaker' you are, you can't do it without a lot of help from the big uglies. CJ is a prime example ... 2000 yards behind a great OL, crap behind a crap OL.

The OL will never get the glory, but they are the building blocks to a team. Not saying that a great OL alone will make a great team, but it is very hard to be good with out a good OL to support.

Building from the lines out is a good formula for sustained success ... but not necessarily overnight success. Takes a while to build

It's impossible to truly be excited about an O-lineman especially in the first round.

But we may have set ourselves up for the future.

As the Titans, we've virtually never had much trouble at LT. And that's a major blessing. Most teams struggle to find one. We've been lucky enough to have some great ones.

That's crap, you're talking out your ass.
My god, if you don't trust a player any more than that with the money you're going to pay him, then why draft him and sign him at all?
