I get they're thrilled. But he's not the one really responsible for making the league more popular. The NFL in TV is more popular now because no one wants to go to the games.

Goodell has alienated the hardcore fans with his family style fan conduct policy for the entire stadiums and making the game softer in order to be politically correct.

But those are entirely different issues than his arbitrary administration of the behavior policies. Let's see just how hard he goes on Irsay who got caught with felony quantities of controlled substances. But hey- he was handing out $100 bills to random fans at Colts camp. That's good for the shield I'm sure.

Irsay is an owner, worst he gets is maybe a $1M fine, and even that seems extreme to what I suspect Goodell hands him.

Remember, Goodell technically works for the owners.

Availability is the trick, thats the ONLY field Goodell has done any good in, making sure he can deliver football to everyone anywhere.

As for the football related matters, he fcking sucks!

He's changed the game to increase scoring, he doesn't give a *** about player safety.

    Agreed

All he's really done is make viewing games easier for the average fan, and more appealing to those same people.

Goodell is the self proclaimed administrator, judge, and appellate board for the NFL 's Personal conduct policy. Check out the link below which soecifically holds owners accountable the policy as well. Goodell is cornered now, and no way he can do anything BUT be arbitrary which is the fault I've had with him for years.

Time expose his bogus azz to the world.

From the perspective of simply trying to nail Goodell you would have an argument. I alternately do not mention Goodell but refer to today's NFL culture. Regardless of NFL/NFLPA agreements nor ruse-based paperwork that holds players and NFL employees to a different standard than regular folk you have a failed system of self-accountability in the NFL. If the league has the power to fine Rice two games they have the power to alternately recognize the epic douchebaggery of this incident and fine him more deservedly.
If the NFLPA appeals, so be it. At least the punishment would have been just.
