But how can you give a guy $100M that has never won a playoff game?

How much of those numbers are due to Green though? Also look how he's performed in the playoffs. Andy Dalton=average. Period. Case closed.

Damn that's a lot of coin. His play has warranted it. But damn. QBs are making a ton of money these days.

I agree he's above average, but it does seem a bit crazy to give a guy who is 0-3 in the playoffs (and the main reason his team lost those three games) a 6 year/$115mil deal even if there's unique contract language that prevents it from being THAT bad.

I hate on Luck a lot... Luck is better than Dalton though. IMO they're both just outside the top 10. Good, but not great. And idk how I'd feel about a good, not great player signing a $115mil contract.

We say Luck has been bad in the playoffs... watch Dalton. Good god he's been bad in each of his three playoff games. Cost the Bengals all three games IMO.

The Bengals were in a no-win situation. Give a guy the going rate contract for a starting QB and be stuck with a guy who might just be good enough to keep you in the hunt but never good enough to finish the job OR try to start over and risk going through the QB carousel they had since Boomer Esiason.

The guy has only played three seasons. To think he has peaked is a bit premature.

They have a guy who helps get them to double-digit wins every year, plays pretty well and does the right things. You think he's going to take a lowball offer or go for the big money on the open market?

Ok, I was watching NFLN and casserly made a good point which I was shocked I didn't think of, due to the fact casserly usually doesn't make valid points lol... He was saying that the Dalton deal isn't as big as it shows, there is a lot of incentives and clauses within the deal, i.e. super bowl berth, no injury clause, yards and comp. bonuses etc.... cause there is no way he will make 19 mil a year, plus kaepernick got a similar deal... Dalton's absolute contract is more than likely 6 years for 55 mil

Also would like to add, if Jake wanted to get PAID. He would of came out one year earlier when he was pretty much a lock to be the #1 pick.
