I really liked Stafford's intensity. He looked really lost in coverage sometimes, but so does Pollard from time to time and it doesn't keep us from appreciating it when he knocks the hell out of someone.

I really hope Thompson can keep it up. If Houston's game is any indication for Clowney, it's going to be burn city.

As is everyone, I am really disappointed with the defense on the first drive. New defense, same problem. Will we ever be able to seal the edge? Worst yet, after rewatching the game, I see guys just taking plays off.

I have to keep beating this drum; Klug deserves a chance to move up the depth chart. Every time he's on the field, he causes problems for the offensive line using technique and his high motor. I'm going to be pissed if he gets cut and has a great career somewhere else.

Defense still transitioning. Started "slow". Like last year. We are going to be living off our SS to stop the run I think.

Sankey was impressive in his pass catching duties. I was less than thrilled on his running. Still figuring out what he can and can't do it looked like. Better than Greene already? Running? You can't be serious. An average fan could see the rookie jitters still running rampant.

Locker didn't play enough to comment. Whitehurst wasn't bad against the 2's/3's. Mett flashed as a bigger threat in the future. Still holding on to the ball to long and has to speed up his reads for sure though.

O line didn't look amazing. Need to see more playing time in the 34 because if you go from this game to Pittsburg, you see a crispness difference in the play. Blitzes look more organized so on and so forth.

Finally saw it today on Replay...

The whole first half was a wash, no pun intended. With a whole new everything, the opportunity to see something wasn't there. I expected sloppiness - EVERYTHING IS NEW - but the monsoon was rediculous.

I liked what I saw in Sankey... Mettenberg looks to be the best 3rd QB this team has ever had!

I look forward to the 4th game for the first time ever because we might get to see Mettenberg the majority of the game.

Again, nothing I didn't expect to see.

Cutting Bironas in the first place was a dumb, unnecessary move. I know we wanna sign some of our young studs and all but we could have easily afforded to keep him. He might have been declining but he was still pretty reliable. Whichever one of these guys wins the job is gonna cost us games, bank on it.

Cutting Bironas was not dumb... He was aging and overpaid. He was easily as close to costing us games as any other kicker would be. He started missing a lot of routine kicks that nearly cost us games.

We should have cut him and re-negotiated a 1 year/$1-1.5mildeal... which we can still do if we need to.

Just because we are worse at kicker right now does not mean it wasn't time to cut Bironas.

It's the same logic that people had by saying we shouldn't have fired Fisher... yes, Munchak was worse, but it was still time to move on from Fish.

Here's what I know. I felt comfortable with Bironas doing the kicking for us last season and in many games he was pretty much our offense. Now we have two guys who both seem to suck and are struggling to hit 33 yard chip shots. I really don't care about the particulars. When you make a move like that you make sure you have someone to take his place. He might have been "overpaid" but his salary wasn't hurting or holding our team back in any significant way so that's pretty irrelevant in the grand scheme of things. I prefer old and serviceable to young and sucks ass. I hope these guys make me eat my words but i 'm not holding my breath.

33 yard field goal in that weather isn't exactly the same thing as a 33 yard field goal in most games though.

I am in favor of giving Coons a chance... Because I think he's more accurate and will be pretty reliable from inside 45.

    Bonani is awful.

    Guys...

No decent starter was trying in that game last night. Keep that in mind.
