I wouldn't take less than a 2nd for him and I don't think we're getting that from anyone. They have Matthews that they drafted so I expect him to just fill the spot.

I think a conditional 4th in 2015 would be fair for Roos with it turning into a 3rd if he plays at least 14 games. I love Roos but we are better of starting Lewan and Oher so our young line can start to gel for our playoff push in 2015

January technically is 2015.

 

I don't think our defense will be good enough this season to secure a playoff spot but if our line gels and Locker stays healthy we can invest heavily on 3-4 guys in 2015 and make the push.

 

Is that not what we did this year?

I think our defense will come together it's just a matter of when. Hopefully it's not too late. I know Horton's giving us a tamer version of the defense in preseason. But it's definitely concerning the way offenses are just marching down the field on us. And that sloppy tackling has got to go.

 

True but we still do not have a true impact edge rusher or a nose tackle capable of collapsing the pocket and I don't believe you can have a top ten defense without those. Don't get me wrong I think we have some good pieces on defense but the only impact player we have is Casey.

I had us at 8-8 to 9-7 at the start of the offseason (if Locker stayes healthy) and so far I havn't seen anything to make me change my opinion and while 9-7 might get you a wild card I don't predict playoff until we are 10-6.
