Atlanta Needs an OT

It's because we don't have a true impact NT and if magnifies the problem of not having a true thumper at ILB.

 

The leagues 3rd best defense last year just gave up 41-points last week. They dont seem worried.

Offenses all over are marching up and down the field, its not only us giving up points.

Last year thru 32 preseason games 1259-points were scored.
This year thru the same number of games over 1300-points will be scored.

 

Al Woods has actually been impressing me these last 2 weeks. He looks the part.

 

I'd listen but I wouldn't give him away either. A 4th doesn't seem like very much too me. A 3rd piques interest.

 

Roos could be traded, nothing lost.

To move Oher thou, thats gonna cost us money.

 

The Falcons drafted their future LT in Matthews. They are just having to play him there sooner than they wanted. So I really don't think they would want to trade for Roos. Now I think they might be willing to trade for Oher. The guy moving up to the RT spot was pretty bad last year according to reports. So if they would give up a 4th or 5th for Oher then I'd consider that.

It would allow us to save a decent amount of cap space, get an extra draft pick, and get our 1st rnd pick immediate experience. On the down side it would certainly hurt our depth.

We can help our own cause if we really want a trade....we make sure to game plan blitzes at their RT...beat up Matty Ice on Saturday night and then just leave Oher in Atlanta.

I watched Woods all of last game vs the Saints 1st team line and he did nothing, I think he is a better fit at SDE then he is at NT.

 

This ^. I've watched a lot of preseason this year, and not 1 has looked good. All just run base man or zone with no wrinkles and a blitz here and there. D coordinators are not trying to give anything away for free.

 

Why are you guys so high on Oher? Don't forget that PFF had him rated as one of the worst starting tackles in the league last year, and the highest penalized per down played. Baltimore basically laughed at us when we gave him that contract.
