Glad he's on The Browns. Perfect fit for another turd about to be flushed.
That said, he wins this year's Chuck Cecil/Bud Adams award for first guy to flip the bird on TV.

Don't you ever mention Cecil again. It is purely the BA award.

I'll be perfectly honest - I loved it when both of those guys did their bird flippin'
I just have a problem when folks from other teams do it..

Gabbert stands there and misses wide open receivers and people just say...."see...told you the guy sucks". Manziel does the same thing and people give the Redskins all the credit.

Cleveland has basically put the team at a disadvantage by not choosing one QB and letting them get all the reps in practice. What it tells me is that they really are desperately hoping Manziel would "blossom" into some phenom, which he wont, and take the job away.

That is not happening and now both QBs are suffering. Manziel's partying and general attitude are enough for me to put him on the bench and see if he can hold a clipboard for now. Fortunately the clipboards in the NFL are not too fast for him...I dont think.

Not that many people I recall said that about Gabbert after his 2nd pre-season game. Manziel looked like an unprepared rookie against those blitzes. He was "rattled" and hurrying throws even when there wasn't a blitz. It's not line he was floating or sailing balls due to mechanics.

We'll see if he's all talk when he critiques his own performance as unacceptable and needs better preparation.

I think the difference is that Manziel was good in college. Gabbert sucked in college, and was touted as an NFL prospect due to size and strength alone. Even Mizzou fans I talked to were outright blasting the fact that he was a 1st round QB.

Manziel was good for the system he played in....so was Tebow....so were many. I have never been sold on Manziel...felt like he got away with running around and slinging the ball to a fairly dominant WR corp. Now he has DEs that can angle and run him down. He cannot simply throw the ball up and count on it being in the area of his WRs. His arm does not look as good as the pundits keep saying it is.

ya, pretty sure he will suck in the NFL. I hope so, actually.

At least with people like VY and Manziel, they've at least won at some level. Gabbert was a loser at all levels.

The noted critic of manners and decorum Bernard Pollard has weighed in on the Johnny Manziel finger.

And amazingly, Pollard was the one wagging his finger today.

The Titans safety said Manziel said giving the Half-Bud Adams salute to the Washington sidelines sent a bad message “for a lot of young people.”

“I don’t know what was said, I could really care less. But we as players, we are blessed with this opportunity to play this game. We are on a stage, regardless if you want to say it or not, or believe it or not. We are on a stage,” Pollard said, via Jim Wyatt of the Tennesseean. “He is at a position where he is a quarterback, and every young boy wants to be a quarterback, they want to be a face of a franchise, they want to be that guy. He is in that position.

“Everybody has seen [the gesture], and that set a bad example for a lot of young people.”

That clearly offended the delicate sensibilities of Pollard, who said he wouldn’t hesitate to take a shot at Manziel when they see each other next.

“We just have to play the game. If I get a clean shot at him, I am going to take it.” Pollard said. “This league, the rules are set up to where these quarterbacks are protected. . . . But God has blessed us with this ability, with these talents, so don’t ruin it. The guy is a great player; he was a great college player. I don’t know what to say about him at the league level. I don’t know who he is. He has to prove himself and these little things he continues to get himself, with whatever gestures.

“All we can do is judge him off of game play. And that gesture, that wasn’t good.”

This from Pollard, one of the league’s chronic illegal-hit artists, who threw his former coach under the bus, blaming Hall of Famer Mike Munchak as the reason his own team “sucked butt,” last season.

So clearly, he’s the one to scold Manziel for bad manners.
