JCB, I was saying the same thing all night, and im glad you have the football knowledge to recognize it as well...

Our LB's did a good job in coverage tonight, Zach Brown was flying around making plays he only missed one tackle that was noticeable, it looks like this coaching staff aren't buffoons like the previous and are able to reach him cause he looked good tonight... The Cornerbacks need extensive work with knowing when to close on routes, Safeties looked ok although I though Wilson showed some grit tonight he seemed to lay some wood, pollard as well... Sankey will look like night and day when going with the ones... Locker needs to stop staring down receivers that is going to get him into trouble, but showed a lot of good things like his 126 passer rating lol; Mett looked like a stud although still holding on to the ball a little too long, O-Line showed some flashes thought Oher looked good in the Pass Blocking and both Kickers looked decent, Special Teams needs a lot of work though especially on staying in their lanes..

all in all it wasn't a bad showing but wasn't great either

Same here. We have a ton of cap room.

I'm thinking they'll get better at blitzing and get more pressure on the QB. Maybe one of the young guys will develop. If you remember, Verner developed faster than McCourty. Maybe one of the young guys just needs more time.

    Hoping so

Offense looks good though. Could see us putting up 24 a game easy.

If I remember correctly, the Titans made him a better offer than the Bucs.

Our coverage is going to give us a lot of frustration early in the season. We will probably get exposed big time on underneath routes. Tonight was a great challenge for our DBs, because it's not everyday we will face Roddy and Julio. My fear is that our #2 CB, hell even our #1 CB will put a domino effect on the whole defense. With these new rules, it's going to be mighty rough on our CBs.

I was impressed with Locker tonight, even though our interior line looked bad and unorganized at times. If we can give Locker time, I believe he can get the job done.

As for Sankey, he hits the hole with heart. A lot of his runs are good explosive runs where he gets no help at all from his 2nd/3rd OL, including Where's Waldo, I mean Lewan. Why Whis and Co is not playing Sankey earlier is beyond me. I just want to see him against 1st string.

I know this is preseason, but I really wanted to see more from our 1st defense tonight.

The missed tackles were not all on bad angles. Stop being homers. The piss poor tackling is a real issue on this team.

This offense is going to put up points, which in today's NFL is what wins games.. maybe not championships, but games.

We may have to give the D some time to get used to Horton's system. I believe they will, but it might be rough sledding until then.

But anytime you can put up a lot of points, especially via passing, you will have a chance in games.

I agree the defense looked weak at times, especially passing downs. Sensabaugh was torched again several times. WAY too many missed tackles. That seems to be the issue with our defense every year. people are there, but instead of wrapping the guy up they bounce off them. Griffin has been near invisible. When you are paying a guy 8 million he should stand out IMO.

The thing scaring me the most is the 1st team oline. They do not look like a starting caliber line, let alone the elite group they should be as much as we have invested in them. Way too many people getting through to rush the passer and not enough holes opened up for the RBs. With the money that is sitting on this line the QBs should have all day to pass and RBs should have holes big enough to drive through.

Had to miss the game tonight. How'd we look besides the defense being garbage? Is their hope?
