Also I don't expect Greene to start much longer. He missed two critical blocks in the passing game that really hurt the offense tonight. He was out of position on both blocks. This can't happen in the regular season especially when the offense is trying to get a rhythm on offense started. Although I respect Greene as a veteran and a tough football player. I like green as a short yardage guy and as a change of pace but I think Sankey and McCluster to get more action as the season goes on. I think the coaching staff is bringing Sankey along in the right way. Locker played really well despite the lack of help in the running game.

My 3 main thoughts were as followed:
    1) Locker will be very good - great if he can stay healthy this season
    2) The defense is going to be mediocre - average at best but hopefully we will start playing better towards Jan.
    3) This new PI enforcement crap has to stop. It's one thing too crack down on helmet to helmet but there has literally been 10 PI calls in every game I've watched this season. It doesn't make for better football and is nothing but an overreaction to the Broncos losing the SB in the fashion that they did.

Locker hit a receiver in stride...

I didn't know he could do that.

    On defense
    • Run D was fine
    • CBs were horrible and so were LBs in coverage -- Against the best WR duo in the league
    • Safeties did well enough. No sign of the old Wiffin Griffin coming back
    • Team gave up two TDs in the first half which is the end of the world -- We expect never to give up a TD
    • Bad blood between the Titans D and Falcons O was on display. Seems to be from the week they spent together
    • Zach Brown is still immature
    • D Line was strong. Casey is still excellent. Hill played exactly the way we need him to at NT
    • LBs look like they are still getting used to playing closer to the line
    On offense:
    • Locker was solid
    • Hunter and Washington were very good -- Did not show in the stats as much for Hunter but he did draw some nice penalties
    • Leon Washington was playing a lot with the first team offense for some reason
    • Run game was not the best but I doubt this is what the run game will look like when the season start
    • Greene cannot block but he did run okay
    • Mett did well again
    Special teams:
    • Wooten did well returning kicks
    • Mooney had a nice takle
    • Bonani looks to be the kicker to keep
    • Coverage did very poor against Devon Hester

cb's suck so bad. side note: i prefer Campbell over Blidi and Coty. All 3 suck but at least he"s strong and can run. It pains me to say it.

Dexter McCluster pass blocks better than Shonn Greene, and so does Bishop Sankey. I, too expect him to be the short yardage guy as the season goes on, but all 3 will be active and get playing time. Shonn's knee looks dicey, IMO. Could be why he whiffed on picking up those blocks.

Sammie Lee Hill looks like he's earning that spot at NT.

Pollard, Casey and Brown are our playmakers on defense. Wish I could call Brown a "leader," but alas.

I like that despite being gashed by the run early, the defense sewed up pretty tightly to end the half. I hope that moment was a turning point. It needs to be...

Because we are awful against the pass. Safeties are a strength, I feel. I hate when people think we'll be fine when we let some guys hit FA. I don't see how anyone could have thought Sensabaugh could fill Verner's shoes outside, and dammit, why won't the FO just let me make just one major decision for them each year? I promise the team would be better off. It makes me feel like Griffin should play CB again, yet I know that would be horrible.

Karl Klug will definitely be playing this year, which is a relief to me.

I wish we could keep Chase Coffman as Taylor Thompson insurance. Despite horrible season stats, I think he still belongs in this league. Maybe Derek Hagan, too.

But Marc Mariani probably makes Hagan and Leon Washington expendable, which is a good thing when you think about it. I feel like L Washington might have just been "showcased" for another team.

Jackie Battle or Colin Mooney? Still seems like a toss-up, though Battle's gotten the glory so far. I'm not counting Mooney out just yet.

I'm really glad we got Beans & Mettenberger. I think he'll be a nice QB who might take over the franchise one day. He's the QB a lot of us have been wanting. I'll be very excited if he's the starter one day, though I do think a healthy Locker is capable of close to 4,000 yards...if he can stay healthy.

This scheme transition and Sensabaugh have me worried.

At least we're the NFL's fastest team. (And there was much rejoicing: "Yay.")

The number of penalties per game is sickening...they've made rules now that prevent them from actually playing the game...

Again, this is preseason issues. There's an extra ref for these games. Come regular season there Will be less eyes officiating, so less flags.
