    Because they're the jets....

We could definitely use him though, someone to compliment hunter, wright, and washington, maybe to keep a spot filled if nate decides to retire.

Yeah, only reason Sam was released was due to the Rams being ridiculously stacked at DL/DE especially.

He showed he can play, though. If it were ever a question.

Stephen Hill sucks. He always sucked. He can't catch or run routes. The Jets drafted him because he was big and fast. That was like the easiest bust to predict in that draft class. Want to draft a receiver in the first 64 picks? I know! We'll take a guy who's as raw as possible in running the route tree and has inconsistent hands!

There's a reason the Jets' offense is terrible.

Not tempted. The guy was a stud for like, what, three weeks at the beginning? He got the Jets way up on him as the future at the position and broke their hearts, basically. He' s unwanted in NY, and that's bad.

I mean yeah, in the past, the FO might have considered it. As a fan, I'm tired of giving these kinds of guys a shot - with hope. Like, I'm fine with Hagan, mainly because we're primed up, but more so, he's focused on playing football. No BS in practice, we'll see what he does in games, but whatever it is, it'll be what it is at 100%, good or bad. But Hill is like Pac-Man to me, in that he's a talent that blew his chance, and needs another to turn it on. Maybe he can or can't. Don't know if it's his head or the end of his talent. But at least it's not this team's issue.

@The Hammer, Lol, though not going off on you for suggesting it, or anything. I'm sure you're more Meh than Gung-ho about it. But I want us to go after a guy like Larry Fitzgerald, et al, when they're available. Someone that puts us over the top on offense. I feel like we can hold off until then.

I don't have any opinion on Stephen Hill... BUT...

how would the Jets know if you're a good receiver or not?

    Really...

I hear ya. Part of me asks another (part of me), "Well why no Dominique Franks or Derek Cox?"

Like with some FAs, you can see/hope that here in Tennessee is the right place, right time for the player and team. Like Levitre (no choice, but we all felt was a fortunate signing at the time)...Mawae, Thornton, for example. Even guys like a Casey or McCourty or Washington. Nothing fancy, maybe, but a good, solid feel for their contribution. Ya know, I even feel that way for a guy like Preston, to a degree.

I just have no sense at this point for some of these other guys, whereas in the past, I might have said yeah, bring 'em on. Jets have teased with this guy before, vis a vis, seemingly-reasonable-trade, and have hokey-pokeyed their way into and out of it., seemingly. It's hackneyed. So now they have no choice but to release him and he really is devalued on the market. I just wouldn't want him to, or think he could, succeed ahead of who we have now. That may sound bad, but, it is what it is.

We have enough adversity without him, in my view.

    LOL and to your point:

    http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/eye-on...didnt-have-a-chance-with-tebow-sanchez-fiasco

"I'm disappointed in (GM John) Idzik and (coach) Rex (Ryan) with the way the whole thing went down there,'' Herman told USATODAY.com's Jim Corbett. "Two years in that kind of situation is disheartening.

"He didn't have a chance that first year with that whole Tim Tebow-Mark Sanchez fiasco. ... His second year, Geno Smith was learning how to play quarterback. So they never threw the ball deep because they wanted to simplify things for Geno."

Not that I want him now................ Just a funny comment from the agent.
