It isn't that black and white. Understand that Dungy isn't a scrub. He helped turn around the Tampa Bay team which assisted Gruden's super bowl win. Manning couldn't get it done with Caldwell. In fact he couldn't get it done a majority of the time.

You put Manning with Belichick and you have a monster. I would argue a team better than Brady and Belichick.

I would bet if you took Bill Walsh and put him in Miami we'd see those 3 superbowl wins go to Florida instead of San Fran.

You NEED a great combo of both. It doesn't stop there either. You need play makers on D and you need a solid GM. There is a reason why some teams have never even MADE it to the greatest stage of the them all.

It takes a large village to make a competitive team. It takes a talented village to win the big one. Not one white knight high on his horse making bull signs and screaming out "Omaha!"

Drew Brees was decent in SD... he didn't become elite until he went to NO - PAYTON.

Brady has only ever played for Belichick. Belichick was getting to the playoffs before Brady. Also, he was still pretty successful when Brady wasn't playing. Matt Cassel ring a bell?

I will say the when Matt Flynn played for the Packers... they didn't miss a beat.

I agree with this to an extent. A player can be such a student of the game that they eventually can coach themselves and others around them. BUT! There is a LOT of players in the NFL that simply don't have the discipline or want to to be that kind of player. Peyton Manning is very much an example of the exception. The dude sits at the ice tub reading his playbook and opponent alignment images while wearing his helmet. OMGWTFBBQ!

 

I really don't see this D being good this year..yes I see it getting better but we need new players to fit the system.

This season is already over..

 

Manning is also a once, maybe twice in a generation talent at that position.
