I almost started Locker in one league myself. I did a little better on points, myself, but not by much. I may start him at home versus the Cowboys. We have to have more TDs than FGs, though, to win the actual game against Dallas. Hopefully not if our defense is semi-legitimate, but this game could become a shoot-out. They had decent openings, but Hunter, Washington and Wright are capable of more than they showed in KC.

I am thrilled about the W, but I am tempering my enthusiasm for when we win against a team that resembles an NFL team. The Chiefs did not.

Computer problems so this is late, but here's my take on the game.

QB - Locker B+....He played very well and no turnovers and threw 2 TD's. Very nice. These are the kind of stats I'm looking to get from him. Manage the game, make good decisions, get TD's, first downs, and stay healthy. On the negative side, he had some plays where he held the ball too long, didn't have the right protection or didn't throw the hot route. As good as he was, he can play better!

RB - 4 Headed Monster B+...Didn't run that well early on but made up for it - especially in the 2nd half and to grind out the end of the game. We need Greene's beast mode earlier. Pass Pro needs to be better too. But not since Eddie George did we look so good ramming the ball down a team's throat to finish the game. Also shows how important Devito and Johnson are to their D!

TE - Walker, Stevens Thompson B+...Took some time to get the blocking going as well as we did later, but a very nice effort. Walker caught and held on to a tough ball for a fd and also a nice catch on the TD!

OL - B-...Levitre had a tough day from a few plays (he gave up one sack getting flaten'd 1v1 and then blocked some grass on the ensuing screen play). But like most other players, he got better as the game went on. Seemed like everyone got a holding call though. Gotta clean that up. On the other hand, KC has a lot of talent on D and our OL played very well for the most part.

DL - A...Was really impressed with the group effort here. Short of a couple of rush lanes opened for ASmith to run thru, they shut down Charles, got penetration and pressure on ASmith and made their presence felt. Liked the fact that we have specific rushers for 2nd/3rd and long!

LB - A...Some things here and there, but didn't notice Brown's absense and held Charles to less than 20yds. Pretty solid tackling for the most part and good effort in tackling and pursuit! Not as much pressure as I'd like or this'd be an A+! On the other hand, Morgan covering a TE 1v1 and doing a nice job staying close enough and then looking for the ball and knocking it away was one of my defensive highlights!

DB - A...I'm already seeing some ticky tac calls that aren't consistent throughout the game! But with all the hype about how we needed a 2nd cb and how bad Pollard is, the secondary stepped up in a big way! JMac with 2 pics and good coverage all day. BWW did a nice job for the most part and I really liked Sensabaugh coming on that short side nickel blitz!!! Wilson played well (except for his helmet hit...which is tough considering the situation), Pollard set the emotional tone several times (and had some poor flags thrown his way) and Griff had the game ending INT. For all the criticism Ive seen toward JMac, he only picked off 2 passes left by himself on 2 deep routes and broke up the pass Griff intercepted to end the game!

ST - A-...Of course we got a penalty, but they seemed to get better as the game went on. Succup was huge for us both in FG's and kicking off! They did well controlling one of the best return units in the NFL.

Coaching - A+...Whisenhunt did a nice job making corrections, fixing errors, and being aggressive in the playcalling. Only Hornton might have done better considering it's a new D, one of our best players got hurt early, and we shut down one of the best rb's in the NFL!!!

i like pollards response to the media guy when asked about the d being better than expected. he said "you guys were the ones in a panic not us".. lol.. im sure they will have a bad game or qtr here and there but he is right. local media and this forum of on and off fans had us losing because we have no defense. even whiz mentioned that in his interview.

I know it's the first game, but I really like our momentum we have as of right now. I'm sure the cowboys will have something to prove this week since they got man-handled against the niners.

I wonder if we will have any highlights on espn or nfl network if we beat the cowboys? Nah... doubt it.

I like this 4 headed RB monster we have goingon. Come 4th Q opposing starters are dead tired, while all 4 of our RBs (and Battle) can still run w energy.

If we beat the cowboys, and the rest of the division loses(and they probably will, especially houston with fitztragic, but the colts and jags are already 0-1) then we'll be at #1 in the south, it's looking pretty good for us right now, when as the last time we were at the top of the south, really....?
