Ray Rice cut/suspended indefinitely

Goodell is like this cant be happening lol, his own fault really

 

By his own standard, the mere allegations of impropriety have tarnished the shield and he needs to be suspended.

 

Another week or 2 and this will all blow over. Goodell will still be the commish and everyone will have moved on.

 

And who is going to preside over any conduct policy issues? Goodell? Don't think so.

Goodell will only be gone if owners want him gone. He's made them a lot of money and will let this Rice situation dissipate to the point people forget about it in a couple weeks. Don't get me wrong, I don't like the guy either, but you're off base if you think this is going to be what does him in.

Bettman has lost what, 1.5 seasons for NHL owners already yet he's still there. He's they're puppet, as is Goodell. The public is busy, sure they saw the video Monday and were in an uproar. You know what will happen? A week will pass and next Monday most will forget, along with all the other things going on i n the news and peoples' personal lives, this will be forgotten about long before it becomes anything greater than it is.

 

I completely disagree. You are failing to realize the impact of the loss of credibility Goodell has suffered from this event. It isn't going away, rather it is picking up steam. You have the AP publishing a story- now their credibility is on the line. You have a public swell against the owner's themselves - doper Irsay and groper Jones (believe he's next on the NOW's list) and the National Organization of Women making a stink. The players themselves are begining to make a stink also.

The owners will have no choice but to separate themselves from Goodell and have him fall on the sword. Believe me- they'll make it worth it to him to do it. But not until after this season. Hence, the "independent" investigation.

This story will re-surface every time Goodell is called up to make an action.
