Why the hell aren't you an upstanding citizen, with all that discipline?

 

I remember my mom whipping my ass (and body) with a metal fly swatter once, then again I was 13-14 and a punk ass so I probably deserved it. I lived in Houston back in 76-80 and at the middle school I attended (Wunsche in Spring) I got my ass swatted a few times with a paddle that had holes in it so you could hear the whistle of the board as it approached the ass cheeks and upper thigh. Talk about getting your attention !! I didn't turn into a serial killer or abuser as a result of corporal punishment, but that said, beating a 4 year old with a switch so that it raises bruises and breaks the skin is a wee bit over the line. A nice swat on the ass with one of his big ol' paws would have sufficed. This may not go so good for AD. I rarely ever smacked my kids, but if I did it was a love tap by comparison to how I got spanked as kid thats for sure...

I can count on one hand the times I was physically hit as a child.

My dad was more of a talker and I listened.



As a new father I'm not sure on spanking. Not sure if I will..

The wife is all about it. She said she plans to whip him on the regular if he acts out.

Don't spare the rod or some nonsense.

We just come from different backgrounds because her momma spanked all of their children on the regular.

really isn't much of a reason to use a switch on a four year old anyway. I *tried* seeing it from both sides, but AP lost a ton of respect from me over this.

 

Uh yeah AP went too far. The little boy told police he had the leaves from the switch put in his mouth. Was hit on his "pee pee" and said he was afraid daddy would hit him in the face.

He is four years old.

My mom used a ping pong paddle on me when I deserved it... but it was always controlled. AP lost control and I doubt it was the first time.

 

If it were a dog, everyone would be up for crucifying him immediately.
