This was a really tough game to watch. It was a total team loss...offense, defense, ST, and coaching.

But the stat that really defines the whole day is that we had 10 3rd downs today and we passed on all 10 of them. When your QB is struggling then as a play caller you have to try and take some pressure off of him. 5 of the 10 3rd downs where for 5 yds or less. So it isn't like we were in horrible yardage situations that forced you to pass. Of the 10 3rd down plays, we had 1 TD to Walker and then picked up only 1 other 1st down on the short pass to Hunter.

If you are that bad on 3rd down it is very hard to win a game.

Whis really did bail on the run game.

Not that he stopped all together... But he had no faith in the run game to move the ball on third down, or any two plays in a row.

This during a game that anything in 180 degree view of Jake Locker was fair game for where the ball might go.

Whiz saw our receivers getting open constantly and knew this... but Locker couldn't hit em... the taylor Thompson and Nate throws are perfect examples... I don't blame whiz for trying to get some confidence back in locker especially when we have receivers that open, just too bad he couldnt deliver these passes that a D3 QB could hit

The WRs were bottled up pretty consistently in the first half. When they got open Jake missed them. It was just a cluter**** all around on offense.

I think the stat of the day is the Cowboy's YPC. Can't give up 5.11 YPC when everyone in the building knows the offense is going to run the ball,

Are there any favorable statistical comparisons to take from this game? I don't remember any. Poor throws, dropped passes, missed tackles, missed defensive assignments, and a poor game plan. All of this adds up to a bad loss with plenty of blame to go around. Let's glean what we can from the film, work on the areas of opportunity and move on with a much better effort next week.

We've had our share of bad losses the past few years, but this one stands out in particular because of the timing of it. Everyone in sports media were calling us 2014's surprise team of the year after week 1 but now they will know we are pretenders. I'm hoping today was just an off day. Whiz has his work cut out for him this week before the Cinci game.

We're not pretenders. If Locker would have made his throws and kept us on the field we can beat the Cowboys.

Locker cost us the game yesterday. And I'm not one of those fans calling for his head, just being honest.

Many of his throws he flat out missed. We could have had 2-3 more first downs and better field position if he makes those. Some throws he was making behind receivers. They shouldn't have to be acrobats to haul in a crossing route.

Locker didn't make the throws when he needed too. Receivers were open.
