We have plenty of holes but QB is always the top priority. No QB and you can all but guarantee no playoffs let alone even think about a SB.

NT, OLB, CB are obviously needs but are much easier to fill than QB. FA is when you focus on these positions and what you don't get you look to the draft but QB is really the one position that is basically impossible to fill outside of the draft. It's a new defense so I'm willing to give it a few more weeks before saying we need this this and this. We've known for a while now that barring a miracle Jake isn't the guy. It's time to stop holding on to potential. Getting Mett some game time come the end of the season if we are out of contention shouldn't even be a question.

So you guys love Mariotta even though spread QBs have a horrible track record in the NFL?

I'm not really sold on any of the top QBs at this point.

Everyone praised Mariota against Michigan St but the Spartans choked the game away while Mariota tossed the ball to wide open guys who made the play after the catch.

Winston is a talent but he's an absolute idiot. We may be dealing with another Vince Young maturity issue with Winston. That Cook guy from Michigan State looks alright but nothing about him screams 1st round pick.

I'm okay with us going BPA (defense) and then giving Mettenberger a year. If he flops we can just go Christian Hackenberg.

If Jake goes down or walks, my pick is Bryce Petty. Love his game. I think Winston is the most talented QB in this class, but no way you hand the keys of the franchise to a guy like that.

For 2 I would add S to LB and CB. Griffin is not getting old and is way overpaid. Pollard appears to be a great leader and his mouth makes fans happy but the guy too limited. Last year his weaknesses were mitigated someone by the way Gregg Williams used Pollard. Basically by using a lot of three safety sets with Wilson playing SS and Pollard playing a SS/LB rover type roll. And Wilson is old too. Only other safety on the roster is Damien Stafford who looks, at best, to be another Donnie Nicky.
