I do both, and Alex is right. No one said the Vols would win that game or that the rebuilding process was over.

But congratulations, you're correct prediction puts in an elite group with only 99.9% of the rest of the world.

I'm just not sure where you're getting that from. Maybe I'm listening to the wrong sports radio and visiting the wrong message boards.

I'm sure you can find some crazy fans out there. But that can be said of any team and trying to pick out a few crazy fans to lump everyone else in with is really, really dumb. You can't fault some people for being over-excited. If you could how bad would Titans fans look after last week's win. Plenty of our fans blew that game out of proportion and got knocked back to reality this week.

It happens. All the criticism over excited fans just demonstrates flawed logic. By that logic every fan base out there is a cult.

Well sure. But you can't blame the Vols fanbase for being excited. That program used to be one of the best in the Nation but has been a dumpster fire for the past 5 years or so. But it's getting noticeably better so a lot of fans are releasing years of pent up excitement.

Would you honestly prefer a fanbase that doesn't get behind an up-and-coming coach and young team? Sounds pretty boring. That's not what you think of the Titans fanbase is it? I hope we're not that bad.

Ever been to east TN Grid?

If you haven't, then be prepared to see peyton manning billboards, insurance commercials featuring butch jones, and god help you if you hop on facebook for game day.

I might be a bit jaded considering i grew up during Manning's reign of terror here, and it still echoes to this day, and it's like beating a dead horse face. UT isn't overrated, so much as they're just overblown.

I graduated from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. So I get what you're saying.

I'm just wondering why some in this thread are thinking that's unique to Tennessee so their fans must be "crazy" or a "cult". Does anyone here really think it's any different than Tuscaloosa? Or Gainesville? or Athens? etc.

Titans fans > UT fans 100%

    Less Walmartians,

Been to 11/14 SEC campuses and have friends and family that have attended a few.

Can confirm we are obnoxious. It is a bit cult-ish. Not as bad as Auburn but close.

    Tennessee - obnoxious
Vanderbilt - I like the west end...
    Kentucky - No cares
    Alabama - generally pleasant
Auburn - Lil man syndrome, cult.
Florida - mean, all of them. Hated it.
LSU - 10/10 good time, love it
    Georgia - Ehhhh boring
USCjr - incredibly nice, good time
MSU - awesome people, zero cares
Ole Miss - 10/10 would live there

I like Tennessee fans, west of Cookeville.

and why everyone thinks I dislike Butch I'll never know.

I just don't buy into coach worship like most Tennessee fans. He is a coach, he can be replaced. To me CFB is about the kids and the experience. **** a coach.

Butch brings in top talent. Tennessee will see success on the field. I just think his coordinators leave a lot to be desired. Mike Bajakian calls plays like he has something wrong with him.

This season has been better but last year watching him force that offense down the throats of players, Worley, that didn't fit that system killed me. Bajakian called a horrible game at Oklahoma.

I gotta tell you, an Alabama fan complaining about other teams coach worship is pretty amusing. There isn't a bigger cult dedicated to a coach in America than there is in Tuscaloosa. And he's the 2nd coach to be hailed as a god in that town.

I will agree that I'm not too sure about Tennessee's OC. But with that young team, it's hard to tell if its him or what he has to work with. Time will tell I guess.

As for your list of school experience, I guess that is different for everyone. I completely agree with Ole Miss, LSU and Florida. I had fun in Athens but had to deal with some assholes in Tuscaloosa. But that may have been a fluke, I've only been once.
