Again here's the thing that people are overlooking about Mett's preseason. People are not impressed because he tore up scrubs in the preseason. I repeat, people are not impressed because he tore up scrubs in the preseason. People are impressed because of the caliber of throws he made. He made throws that showed great accuracy, velocity, The ability to throw guys open, and most importantly anticipation. He showed the same things that those who saw him play in college were raving about. He also showed an ability to hang in the pocket (though sometimes for too long) while keeping his eyes downfield.

In short, he showed all the things that we would like to see from Jake. He also did most of this while getting way less protection than Locker, behind a crappy OL and throwing to third string receiver (save for Hunter). Could you imagine what Kendall could do with accurately thrown darts that allow him to catch the ball in full stride? Just because the throws weren't completed against NFL starers that doesn't mean they could not have been. I've seen starting DBs get beat by worse balls quite frequently. If he had dinked and dunked his way to those stats while throwing an abundance of almost-picks, we wouldn't even be having this conversation but that's not what happened.

This. I don't care if he was playing scrubs, he has accuracy and velocity, those attributes can be transferred to starter reps. Coaching can handle the rest.

No, it is because he puts the ball on the ground, and is not ready. He is as much a threat as nothing.

Jake was putting it on the ground last week.

    Tim Tebow style.

Although I do agree at this moment in time, Jake is still the best option we have atm.

Jake took a massive dump on the field last week! I couldn't watch the second half knowing the outcome already. The poorest play I have seen in a minute. As a supporter, it was God awful to see that, but he is our guy, and we go where he goes.

    I can agree with this.

Locker will be, at best, a stopgap. Mett seems to have good pocket presence, but he seems too willing to fling the ball - gunslinger... but i think that will be more bad than good.

rewatched the game yesterday. Our ILBers were magnets for blockers and appeared to have no clue as to which gap they were supposed to fill. I love the way that Horton is changing things up to help generate a pass rush. On one sack we actually had Morgan playing as a MLBer right behind the NT and then he blitzed. Casey is being moved all over the place. What we have to do is be able to put teams in obvious passing situations so that we can unleash Horton's myriad of blitz combos.

This game was a game that the ball just never bounced our way. From STs with them downing the punt at the 2 to our muffing the KO and starting inside the 10yd line to the replays that all went the Cowboys ways.

Locker will get the chance to bounce back. I don't think that Whiz makes any sort of move at QB until after mid season at the earliest.

Jake was putting the ball square on the opposing team's players. He was also putting the ball on the ground just in front of our receivers' feet and a few feet over their heads. Spare me the he's not ready stuff. Jake isn't ready and he's in year 4 but that doesn't stop us from trotting him out there every Sunday.
