I heard a story about that this morning. Apparently, in North Carolina, you are allowed a "de novo appeal" of the verdict. So, even though Hardy has been found guilty by a jury, the case is not closed pending ruling on the appeal. Ruling on the appeal is expected to occur........wait for it....in early 2015 (after the season). Traditionally, the NFL does not rule on an issue until the case has been closed (the Rice case, for all of the uproar here, is actually closed at this point).

Amazing how that works, isn't it? Also, I believe that his sentence is 18 months probation, so his only time away from the game will be whatever the NFL says it is (I assume at this point that it will be the 6 game minimum thing floated out last week, unless the Rice issue changes that again).

New article out detailing the lies and covering up that's gone on ever since February. It's a lengthy read (I'm still not done with it) but basically there are numerous sources saying the Ravens and subsequently the NFL knew exactly what happened in that elevator from the get-go. And that Ravens owner Bisciotti (who is apparently good friends with Goodell) urged Goodell not to give Rice "more than a two game suspension". Also, Bisciotti sent Ray Rice a text message immediately after he was released saying he automatically has a job in the Ravens office when he retires.

Oh, and apparently Harbaugh wanted to release Rice back in February but was rejected by the owner and GM.

How do they not know what happened on the elevator?

How was there ever any doubt he decked her?

Watched the press conference. It was just as much of a joke as everyone thought it would be.

Luckily, the reporters didn't let him off the hook and all but accused him of outright lying with half the questions. Goodell is at that awkward stage where everyone knows he is lying but can't outright prove it yet. That's coming though.
