Zach Mettenberger is NOT the backup QB.

    Look, I get that it's the casual fan thing to root for a late round rookie because he had a few decent preseason showings- but Mettenberger isn't on ANYONE's radar to play a game for the Titans this year. Except for fans with extremely weird/irrational expectations.

    Charlie Whitehurst is the backup. That's not going to change.

    So while you want someone to replace Locker (Hey guys, thanks for FINALLY coming around) you're parading the wrong name.

    Thankfully for Mett, because it'd be a very Rusty Smith situation with you guys if he did get to start.

    Even with lowered expectations I'd be fine with working CBJ for a while. hell i'd take a tame mouse at this point.

    CBJ is not our future Qb.

    He is a career back-up at best.

    At this point, you might as well see what you have in Mett.

    I would be willing to bet that if Locker were ever to be permanently benched that it would be Mettenberger who would be lining up under center. The only way I see Whitehurst replacing Jake is if Locker gets injured during a game.

    Clipboard Charlie was brought in to help teach the play book, that's it.

    I'd rather see what Mett can do than CBJ. We know what CBJ is capable of, not so much with Mett.

    Then we can make a decision on whether or not to draft a QB next year (my reaction is no, at least not early, we need to address our secondary in a big way and I don't think any of the QBs likely coming out next year are surefire homeruns).
