I'm not ready to throw in the towel on Blidi just yet. He took his lumps against a good receiver group today. Needs to clean up some of those numb-nuts plays but I do see some tools and upside buried beneath all those yellow flags he piled up today lol. If he's gonna get smoked I'd rather it be in a game we were never going to win anyways.

That toss throwback though. He had choices.

    1. Intercept the ball and likely go for a pick 6 TD.
    2. Destroy Andy Dalton as he goes to catch it.
    3. Ease up and bring Dalton down with ease after he catches it.
    4. Look like you're completely lost and just let him catch it and run for the end zone as you fall to the ground by yourself in epic failure.

    He chose number 4.

I heard a post-game clip with him after the game. To paraphrase, he basically said he wanted to hit Dalton but at the last second he started thinking about where and how to hit him (meaning what would be legal) and it messed with his head. I suppose that kinda sorta makes sense but IMO it's still inexcusable to just completely whiff like that. I'd rather you put an illegal hit on him and give them a first down than just run right past him and make yourself look silly.

Hopefully it's a learning experience for him. That's really about all the positive I can say about him today.

Lmao, I won't lie I laughed. I agree it was a horrible play but I've played the position at levels far far far far below the NFL or even NCAA football and have experienced moments where you have so many options that you just end up trying to do them all at the same time and end up looking like a retard. To me that play looked like he thought he could make the pick and by the time he realized he wasn't closing on the ball fast enough, it was too late to change plans and make the tackle. That particular play just looks to me like a result of inexperience at the NFL level. The other ones were a mix of panicking too early, and looking like a jack ass while celebrating.

This is the problem with wasting our draft for the last 2 seasons on offensive linemen. I know they are important, but we have overlooked our defense for years. I understand the QB situation and many teams still have no QB, but no reason we should not have a solid defense. Besides J-Court at corner and casey inside, this defense can be blown up.

You can also tell Jake is starting to go back to old jake with taking off and running. Its great to see, but we have been down this road before, just a matter of time before he gets hurt. Nate washington is a problem, he cannot win match ups anymore it seems. Tough being a fan, Whiz can say all he wants about no one is safe, but lets be honest, he has no one. Only change for us fans would be Mettenberger but Whiz will make sure that won't happen until he is 125 percent done with Locker.
