He's played 3 games in Whiz's offense. It can take time for things to click and work smoothly. And many of us still have doubts about Whiz. This whole franchise could be a mess, not just Locker. :disappointed:

Uhhh... Locker has been missing open guys.... How can time in the scheme matter if you can't hit open guys??

Yep, that's a great point. It's hard for me to be optimistic about Locker, I just understand that it's not realistic to bench him after week three. That's what I want you guys to understand.

We have a easy October schedule. If he can't get it together by the end of that, he needs to go.

Guys, chill with all the Mett talk.

He's not playing unless CW gets hurt.

You dudes view football like a bunch of Madden-playing 12 yr olds.

"and if that don't work, we'll trade Jurrell Casey for Peyton Manning!"

Why would it matter how"easy"the October schedule is if as @Ensconatus said "jake can't hit open guys". That's the whole reason people are disgusted and ready to move on from Locker. If you can't hit open guys consistently and in stride you don't belong in the league. This is exactly what Jake has shown.

Locker is done as a starter and will end up being a back up QB next year somewhere else. That team might need to get a good 3rd string qb too just in case he were to get hurt walking to the bench lol .

Fair enough. I believe in Whis though. He's won a SB as a coordinator and been to one as a HC. We all knew he wasn't going to turn it around overnight. The 2013 Chiefs were such an anomaly.

As for Jake, sorry I just don't buy the excuse that "it's a new system and he just needs more time". The system isn't making him throw balls 5 feet away from his receivers. And the system isn't making him throw the most ill-advised throw in all of football (across your body into coverage in the middle of the field).

I will give Jake that he's never had a lot of time to get comfortable in a particular offense. But you can also look at it as he's been in 3 different offenses and hasn't excelled in any of them.

Look, I like Jake and really wanted him to be the guy. But it's abundantly clear he is not. It's time to stop making excuses for him.

I know it's probably too early for Whis to make a change. By benching Locker you're effectively saying the season is over and we're playing for next year. But you never know. Sometimes a spark can come from the most least expected places. I doubt the Patriots were expecting much from this kid Brady when Bledsoe went down. And I doubt the Rams were expecting much from this grocery bagger Warner when Green went down.

For the record I'm not saying Mett or CBJ would be anywhere close to that level. Just giving examples. Sometimes the best QB on the roster isn't the guy everyone thinks it is.

Works for me. Jake is proving his inability to run Whis' s system.

I think he'd be more effective in a system where he moves and runs a lot... but don't misunderstand, not much better.

    Exactly.

    Better? Sure. Great? No.

Above all else a QB needs to be able to throw accurately and make good decisions. If you can't do those two things then there's no sense in tailoring an offense around you.
