I agree with this. Strange, yes, but call the cops and report missing? No. Something else is up...

What would you do in this situation then?

The wife looked throughout the house, called him numerous of times without an answer, and called relatives. Besides going on a man hunt in the neighborhood yourself, but why do that when you could call the cops? You have a greater chance locating someone if it's reported as soon as possible. The wife did what a normal caring wife would have done in this situation.

I see it as very revealing. 1030 on a Saturday night is not late. Plus, his car obviously wasn't there, so she knew he drove off. You do no report someone missing after that that short of a period, when it is pretty obvious they got in their car in left. Unless it is a kidnapping AMBER alert type situation (which this obviously wasnt), then police aren't even going to begin to investigate a missing person (adult) who left in their own car, after only 30 minutes. I hate to speculate on what happened, but when more information comes out I almost guarantee there is information she is withholding (or maybe not even withholding, maybe it just has not been made public yet).

It was 30 minutes, his car was gone. It was obvious he left. Someone leaving their home, in their own car, does not make them a missing person. Especially after only 30 minutes.

Also, most police depts will not consider an adult as missing until 24 hours, unless there are obvious circumstances as a kidnapping, or someone falls over a boat or something. Someone leaving their own house, in their own car, would not be considered missing until at least 24 hours had passed.

I would also find it to be a pretty strange coincidence that she just happened to report a missing person in a very brief time frame from when he actually left, and the person happened to be threatening people at the time. Something isn't adding up and it is pretty obvious. She knew something was wrong, which is why she was so frantic about finding him.

I guess every person and each relationship's dynamic is different. I understand it might have been very out of the ordinary. But as has been said, he hadn't been gone long and he clearly left in his own vehicle. Doesn't seem like something that in and of itself warrants a call to the police, to me.

But they were newlyweds so who knows. I've been married nearly 8 years. My wife would probably just go back to sleep in that situation lol.

The sad thing is now his death is likely going to get the national attention it didn't get on Sunday.

At this point I'm going to be shocked if the toxicology reports don't come back that he was completely lit or on some kind of hallucinogen or something.

The part about the kid smelling gas fumes is weird to me. Why is that not a bigger question? People don't go on murderous rampages while drunk?
