All reality shows are exaggerated. The theory is not terrible though. It's actually very plausible.

Nope, the rage and mental state is what made me think about it after the report of fumes from his car. Then add in that there were no skid marks, it's very possible he could have passed out before his truck went off the road.

She probably was...I mean, clearly this was deep and emotional or a drug issue. I personally think he cracked. He probably felt like things were great, then turned to crap before his eyes. (Lost football, possibly wife cheating, etc).. It's all speculation, but the odds of exhaust are minimal. I have been to that dark emotional side, and it sucks and cuts to the core. You could be the best person ever and still lose your cool.
