If we have any questions about a QB after 4 years, we have a problem.

It might be time to see where CBJ/Mett stack up with this offense, we know we have weapons, and jake isn't killing it how he was suppose to.

 

IMO Whis has already seen enough and knows Locker isn't the guy. He just has to back him publicly and yanking his QB after 3 games makes him look bad too. This wrist injury is a convenient way to sit Jake on the bench under the guise of "preventing further injury".

But come on, they're calling it a "strained wrist" and he didn't even come out of the game after injuring it. Hell, nobody even knew he injured it until the game was over. Does anyone believe Manning or Rodgers or any other QB worth a damn would be sat out in this situation? I'm skeptical.

I think this is a convenient and strategic way to get Jake out of there and see what someone else can do. If we're winning and one of the other QBs is playing well then Whis can simply say "We're gonna stick with the hot hand" and that's a wrap on the Jake Locker experiment.

 

Tampa seems to be doing the same with McCown, claim he has a sprained thumb

 

I don't get why they didn't just stick with Glennon from the beginning. He played decent last year considering he was a rookie. Completely nearly 60% of his passes and had 19TDs to 9 INTs. McCown is nothing more than a stopgap.

Something you have to look at is what do the throws that WRs drop look like. I have seen several throws that counted as drops in Whizs' book that Calvin Johnson could not catch. If Locker throws behind a WR but in the general area I know a WR is expected to catch the ball. However, when you throw behind a guy and he has a defender in his face, as has been the case several times, it is hard to make that catch.
Several high throws to WRs that they get their hands on are called drops. Again they are going up high right with a DB expecting a hard hit cause their QB has hung them out to dry. Guys like Hunter who are developing need more time to make those catches. Hunter is only in his 2nd season, expect things like that from him. Not his 4yr QB.
Some, not all of Lockers passes come out wobbling to the WR. Try catching a football that is coming at you end over end.
The biggest concern..... When their is miscommunication on passes that WRs drop, Locker does not address with the WR. Good QBs are going to address this with the WR and try to make sure they understand what happened so it does not happen again.
Locker has had several instances of a clean pocket where he panics and throws too early or too late because he panics about pressure that is not coming.

 

You can't possibly know if this is true or not. You dont see it on TV so you assume he lets his WR's get off easy?

 

In the Kansas City game Locker didn't do anything special. He just didn't make the stupid decisions that his has in the past 2 games.
How can you say that he is better than Mett??? There is no way to know that without letting Mett try. I am not saying he will come in and be amazing. I do not know. No one does. However, it is a HUGE mistake by the Management of this team if we don't know by the end of the season.
Locker is not getting the job done, and has yet another injury. Locker may come back and play a nice game, but we should all know by now that it will be short lived. He will go back to the old over throwing, throwing behind, & panicked in the pocket QB that we all know he is. I am not saying he cannot have a good game. I AM saying he cannot CONSISTENTLY have good gameS.

 

Like many fans and some players I go to the games for the concessions.

Maybe he plays better when hurt if he goes this Sunday.....sometimes being or hurt or sick helps mentally to play better.

Boy do I miss McNair.....wouldnt practice all week but come Sunday he was all game.
