I also wanted us to draft Mettenberger this year but thought he would be gone by the third or fourth round. He fits the QB type whisenhunt uses.

IMO had he not had the ACL injury, and the red flags for off the field behavior, Id have thought he'd be a 2nd round pick, maybe even late 1st.

So to paraphrase what you're saying above is that Locker's ceiling are the worst 2 games of his career, stats that show he can play better (including the first game of this season) are lying to us, and he can't get better with experience by playing more in this offense? None of this makes sense.

If you don't believe in Locker, just say that. To suggest he can't play better when he has or that he can't get better with more experience (which is how QB's get better in new offenses) is silly. But to add insult to injury, you wanna throw the season away for a QB who's never started a game in this league is a bit silly. If Locker plays until we are knocked out of the playoffs, there are only a few possibilities. First, we make the playoffs and that is that. Second, we just miss the playoffs late in the season and then you've had plenty of time to see what Locker can do and can't and evaluate his future hear. The last game or two you can start Mett or CW. Or third, we are out of contention early and then you make a decision. Is Locker playing well enough that we need to see some more starts from him to decide whether we want to keep him or not or do we sit him and see what the others can do. But just as we've seen the worst this offense can do, I think with everyone doing their jobs better...from coaching to every player on offense...our offense can be very good as we saw signs in the KC game.

It's funny, if I don't agree with delusion, I'm delusional? But if I show you facts you guys 'disagree with', I'm delusional. I guess nowhere in this equation could you be wrong, right?

No, if Jake continues to play this badly, he won't be starting for long...which is why i said he will either play himself into or out of the job. The problem with you guys is you don't think there is ANY possibility he can play better (even though he already has).

And I'm not defending Jake, just talking in reality. I have said he has played poorly, but PART of that poor performance is also on other players too. When Jake makes a bad throw, that's on him. When his WR drops the ball, that's on the WR. You guys act like we have a SB team with the QB killing us. The WHOLE TEAM has failed the last 2 weeks. That's not defending anyone, that's the reality of the situation.

    Whoa

I want to move on, but some of you guys act like Locker has never played a good game in his life.

Fact of the matter is, Locker gives us the best chance to win *IF* he is playing well. No one can honestly believe that CBJ or ZM can give us a better chance to win because the sample size is so small. Hope is about the only thing you can cling to.

I find it ridiculous that some people are holding on to these guys as saviors when they've thrown less than 1,000 yards combined.

And to be fair, when you say OK, to put it in perspective, you're saying a 111.4 QB rating is just OK. What do you call good? The point is no one is confidently stating Locker will or won't make it. He will or he won't. That's why they play the game.

In my opinion each game that Locker starts is one more wasted game whether we win or lose. One more step backwards in the Titans future - When you have a starting quarterback that has missed 19 games since being on the roster that's the real issue. Any team that continues that pattern is foolish.

By Jake standards 266 passing yards, 2 TD's, and a 66.7% completion percentage is amazing but I'm not grading him on a curve and by NFL QB standards that is an average game. By the way don't forget to take into account the quality of the opponent he faced.

All that aside, if this was a usual stat-line for Locker we wouldn't be having this conversation but the fact is that games like this have proven to be a rarity for Jake and that's a fact. Here are some more:

1.Only in 8 out of his 26 games played has Locker achieved a completion percentage higher than 60% which means that in 70% of his games it was below that. In 42% of his games he was actually under 55%.

    2. In 77% (20/26) of Locker's games he's thrown for less than 2 TD's. He's thrown for 3 TD's exactly one time in his entire career and he was carted off the field before half time of said game.

    3. Jake has only thrown for 6 more TD's than interceptions in his career and sports a career 57% completion percentage.

When I say Locker has hit his ceiling and we're looking at it I'm not solely referring to his last two games. I'm looking at his 4 year body of work, not just statistically but in-game and concluding that there is no more to see here.

Could I conceivably be wrong? Of course. But if you had to bet your house and everything you own on Locker either failing or becoming a pro-bowler you know which scenario you're going with. You can always be wrong in life but the best you can do most times is gather as much information as you can. Look at it critically and then make a decision on it. That's all I've done in this case and looking at Locker's track record to this point I don't see any way in which I could conclude that he is more likely to succeed than he is to fail.

Tim Tebow is a young, hard-working, physically gifted young man and I guess by your "you never know" argument the guy can make a huge comeback and silence all his critics. Still I don't see any GM's lining up to play the lottery. I just don't believe in Locker. I think he's gotten a more than fair shot to prove he's the guy and has come up short. If you disagree then so be it, I'll respect your opinion.

So to be clear, when he was 4-1 last season, before he got hurt, you thought he was a 'non-NFL caliber QB?'

And what do you call a defense of Locker? How am I 'defending' him? I've said how he's played - both good and bad. When he plays well, I say that. When he plays poorly, I've said that. When WR's drop the ball...I say that. When our protection puts a ton of pressure on our QB...I say that. It's called knowledge and reality.

Hey, since you KNOW the future, can you please pm me the next winning Powerball #'s? Thank you!
