QB - D Locker put in the kind of performance we want out of him in game 1 but could not overcome the new system, drops and a leaky OL to play to the level we need. Considering CW had similar problems even though he knows the offense well shows we have some major problems going on and it's not all on the QB's. Still, the QB play last game was OK and the previous 2 were bad. If the starting QB can play better AND get some help from the WR's, OL and playcalling, this grade could turn around in a hurry.

RB - B+ Greene and Sankey have shone we can run the ball quite effectively...even before the game is out of reach. Now we need more from McCluster and a steadier diet of rushes. If Sankey can play with better technique and hold up in pass pro, he could end up with the majority of carries as our offense needs to focus on what we do well!

WR - D- This group played well last year but have struggled mightily this season. Everyone thought Jake couldn't read the defense as the reason he held the ball so long. Now we see the same with CW who knows the offense. If the QB's are holding the ball that long against man coverage, guys aren't getting open. Whiz alluded to people not taking the right depths on there routes, a lack of urgency, and not making routine NFL plays. Add in Hunter's drops (one turned into INT), Nate's drops (2 TD's and he only has 6 catches on the season), and Kendall's unforced fumble and stumbling on 3rd down routes and we have a problem. While most are concerned the WR's have lost faith in Jake, I'm more concerned that all of our QB's have lost faith in the WR's! No more evidence than CW throwing to Walker who was double covered a couple of times vs throwing to a 1v1 WR matchup! We have the talent here, just not executing at the fundamental levels.

TE - A Walker is playing like we thought when we signed him. One of the true bright spots this season! He is a force in the passing game and is even making catches when doubled! Havent seen enough of Stevens or Thompson to impact this grade.

OL - C- Have done a nice job in run blocking, but a serious problem in pass pro. Communication has been spotty leaving the QB to get killed, run for their lives and throw under a lot of pressure. Levitre and Oher have been victimized the most (not counting our QB's). It's probably time to get Lewan in their!

DL - B+ - Most thought this would be a weak spot and we have no NT, but this has been one of the steadier groups. Klug and Casey have been getting pressure but we need others to step up! Have grown into a better run DL than we thought. SLH has been solid at NT and Martin filled in well last game.

LB - C- - Woodyard's been our steadiest LB and has been pretty good. Morgan has played well in coverage but hasn't given us the pass rush yet. Wimbley has been almost non-existant and the loss of Brown has been noticeable! Gooden has been up and down and Ayers hasn't even been on the active roster for gameday.

CB - C- - McCourty has been OK but BWW has been picked on quite a bit! Sensabaugh has been fairly steady. Huff is very raw!

S C- Pollard has been solid but Griff has been bad. He's blowing a lot of tackles, hasn't been stong in coverage, and hasn't been a playing with that sense of urgency. Would not be surprised to see Wilson take over a S spot and Wooten or Stafford get some playing time!

Giving the corners a C anything is not telling the whole story, same with WRs at D.

Corners are awful. Can't believe we didn't address this position in the offseason... BWW just doesn't have it.

I think the O-line can still rebound. The only Olineman I am really disappointed in is Levitre. He was supposed to be the solid veteran and is being outplayed by everyone.

Linebackers suck, we knew run defense would be bad when we signed woodyard and Philips but geez... Morgan is mediocre at OLB and Gooden has shown promise... but without brown the unit is broken.

    DL is solid I think

Safeties... I like griffin but I think Pollard has rubbed off on him too much. focuses on getting "the big hit" and not actually making sound tackles. Pollard is just a penalty machine, but he does get in on a LOT of plays.

WRs are good but something is wrong with them, not sure what it is. Jake clearly can't hit them in stride but they are dropping wide open passses! I expect this group to improve over the course of the season on their own.

TEs are good, Delanie is finally what we dreamed he would be and Thompson is progressing nicely. Stevens is only good for run blocking.

QB is obviously a major weak spot. unless Locker comes out with a chip on his shoulder we will have a new QB next season. Whitehurst actually didn't play too bad on sunday though so that is encouraging for when Locker finally snaps in half.

RBs is another strong point. although I think it is obvious to everyone except whiz that Sankey should be the #1. Greene is still only good on short yardage situations, and even then sometimes he's not been too reliable. Pinned at the 2 in Cinci they handed it to him twice and he got nothing... granted they knew the run was coming but that's the reason we signed him!

Overall I think the season is still salvageable but the team has to play like they actually believe that. I think I believe it more than they do right now...

DL is C, at best. LBs and DBs get a D. Horton said it would take four games before his system would be in full effect so expect a miracle this Sunday.

lmao. Pollard has been worse than Griffin. He drops easy int's all the time. Griffin hasn't given up anything deep and is tackling as good as Griffin is going to tackle.

    QB D

    RB C

    WR F

TE (only because of Walker) A.

    OL D

    NT D

    DE B

    OLB F

    MLB D-

    CB D-

    S D-

    K C-

    P B-

The only positions that could not be improved from most bum free agents are P, TE, and Casey.

McCluster is looking like what he's always been.. a bit player. Never been effective at any position other than PR/KR. paid a lot of money for that.

Sankey's not got enough chance to judge correctly.

    Simple

Offense D. Core issues revolve around the WRs and our QB play.

Defense D. Core issues the secondary. We have cbs that's have no business on the field much less a team.
