Now people are finally starting to see what I saw before the season. It's about time. I was mocked for thinking this team was going to be just as bad if not worse than last years and now look at everyone.

So we are going to "dumb" down the offense for our inept QB?!? Man doesn't that sound oh so familiar with he who must not be named.

I hope Whitehurst gets the start again this week, so he can show what he can do.

I don't think the Offense's complexity was the problem. Playcalling is, and the receivers underperforming on the passing side of things. Without the Hunter and Wright turnovers, the Colts game may have not sent the entire organization reeling, and going back to the drawing board.

Plus, the defense is horrid, and I don't know if any gameplanning can change that. They're fielding Casey plus a JV squad out there.

That's the only thing he can do. It's obvious by now that they can't learn. Well, they can likely, but not before the end of the season. When you have slow learners, you have to simplify, simplify, simplify. And I wonder what Munchak would have done with quick learners.

Scheme won't fix Hunter dropping a pass or Wash not looking for the football. But if these guys are thinking too much about the read/depth instead of catching the football, then simplifying can't hurt.

Stringing some first downs together makes any defense better.

I too would like to see Whitehurst get another start in the current offense before
simplifying it (a.k.a. dumbing it down) for our incompetent "franchise QB".

Can we just end this Locker train-wreck already? I mean my god, how damning is it that every single coordinator we've had during his career has felt the need to put on the training wheels and run a dumbed down offense? Ugh.

Those two turnovers doesn't change the fact that we got killed. It wouldn't have made a difference.

    3 completely avoidable turnovers...

    Hunter
    Wright
    Onside kick

Yeah.. a potential 21 points would have made no difference, right??

Not to mention the Washington drop.

I didn't get to watch the game on Sunday because I was out canoeing with the Boy Scouts. I watched the 1st half and part of the 3rd Q last night and I was actually surprised by what I saw. Our defense was able to get the Colts into 3rd and long situations many times by stopping the run on early downs. Of course we then let them convert a ton of 3rd and longs, but I give Luck a bunch of credit. He was on target Sunday and really made some tremendous throws.

I thought Whitehurst looked better than I expected. The WRs ineptitude certainly killed multiple drives. But Charlie was throwing the ball fairly well.

I feel that the situations/scores in these past few games has gotten Whiz out of balance in his play calling. Hopefully that won't happen in the next few games.

I recall Jim Sorgi once saying "sometimes, how much you know doesn’t really matter, it’s about executing".

And I truly believe he was right when he said those words. That high octane offense Peyton Manning used to ran up and down the field with during his Colts tenure, Tom Moore claims they went into games with only
ten or so core pass plays and just a couple of core runs.

Im all for dumbing down the offense, when youre thinking, youre going to play slow, stop making our guys think and just let them go play football.
