If you were our GM...what would you do?

    I would not want to take over as GM for this franchise.

    There's a lot of mess to cleanup, and nearly 55 years of underperformance.

    Here's what I'd do if I were GM.

    1). Fire Ray Horton and bring in Pat Narduzzi from Michigan State as DC and pay him what he wants to make the move.
    2). Fire Jason Michael and bring in Gus Malzahn as OC and pay him what he wants to make the move.
    3). Draft Mariota or Hundley in the first. Offensive linemen in the second/third. Skill position players in the latter rounds. The QB needs to be someone that could make sure that the pass is respected...but can also open up a pocket with their legs. By that I don't mean use a bunch of designed runs...just use their legs to extend plays. Hundley and Mariota can both do that well. Plus in a Malzahn offense...Sankey is going to be doing a lot of the work anyway.

    If you do all this, you may as well fire Wisenhunt, too. Because the system we're running is his. He wouldn't want to have his coordinators cut out from under him.

    I probably would do that too...I just couldn't think of a HC off hand that made sense.

    Getting rid of everybody is just going to set us back even more.....the players need consistency on the systems to become familiar with them.

    We are slowly adjusting to the 3-4, but I believe we don't have the right players to run it properly.

    I dont have anyone special in mind either, but theres a few guys I think could be had.

    As mentioned earlier, Brock Osweiler is a candidate, he's in about the same situation as Charlie Whitehurt and Matt Flynn were in around 2011. Young guy who showed promise in small samples, but nonetheless showed he can hang in the NFL. Same for Mike Glennon or Kirk Cousins, soon the Redskins will have to make a choice, pay RG3 or pay Cousins....

    Then there could be an older vet nearing the tail end of his career. Ben Roelisberger maybe? At 32 and in the final 2 years of his contract maybe Pittsburgh doesn't want to be the next team to have to hand out a $120M contract to a QB just because.... Same for Eli Manning and Philip Rivers.

    I was mostly thinking out loud when I suggested trading for a guy. Its not like this franchise uses draft picks to secure top talent, might as well trade picks away for a proven thing.

    Need QB and linebackers and CB's. Especially linebackers who can run. QB is top priority if Mett not the answer. We don't have LB to play 3-4.

    If in top 5 picks, draft QB of future. If not load up on defense . Pass rusher, helps secondary look lot better.

    If I see anymore mentions of Osweiller or another backup, I'm gonna lose it Lol.. NO NO NO.. We need to DRAFT a QB in the first round.. no more vets (Fitzy, Whitehurst, Hasselbeck) or backups..

    I know VY & Locker failed, but we're in this mess because we missed on BOTH attempts.. Gotta keep trying tho..

    Not gonna fix all the problems this summer.. Need another pass rusher, and CB.. I think we're fine at ILB.. Willamson, Brown, Woodyard, Gooden.. They'll find a good group there..

    It's OLB and CB that need addressing badly on the D.

    If lions let Suh test the market I'm throwing him a nice contract. Then drafting Danny Shelton from Washington.

    Casey....Shelton...Suh

    Guaranteed with a front 3 like that our linebackers will be clean to make plays and those 3 have the ability to generate enough disruption to throw QBs off there game.

    I will also be looking to draft Mannion or Cook. ( assuming we are out of reach for Mariota)
