I doubt we see Mett this week even though we should. They will give some spill about him needing preparation and Whitehurst being the more prepared player. Better chance to win. I and many fans have seen this coming for weeks. I have defended the coaching staff, but if they have not been preparing Mett to start they are WRONG! I do not know if he will be any good, nor does anyone else. We have not seen enough from him to know. The fact is that we have to know BEFORE the end of THIS season if he is good enough, or not the guy. We cannot go into another off season with no real plan at QB. I am sorry, but counting on Locker to stay healthy was no real plan. If Mett plays great we have a much needed solution and can address a defense that badly needs retooling in FA & Draft. If he is not we know the top pick has to be QB. Either way we have to know before the off season!

If we go into the off season without knowing what Mett can do the entire FO should be FIRED. Webster should go NOW!

Yes, no turnovers. He was also indecisive, did not recognize wide open receivers and held on to the ball for what felt like 15 seconds for each attempt in the second half. There is a reason this guy has six starts in like 9 years.

That's the thing though, they will not know what they have with Mett until he plays meaningful snaps in a regular season game. Practice and preseason only tell you so much. Plus, Mettenberger is not your typical 6th round QB. He fell in the draft due to medical reasons and off-field concerns. Writing him off before seeing what he can do is simply ignorant IMHO.

Obviously, how else can you explain why Manziel was a 1st Round pick?

I'd go with Mettenberger after the bye week and stay course with him.

I just finished showing him Mett isn't your typical first rounder. He disagrees with the established facts.

They need to prepare him for our chitty OL. I don't want to put him back there and have him destroyed before he can get some QUALITY playing time.

Our O-line is actually not that bad in pass pro. Almost half the sacks were caused by our QBs hanging on to the ball too damn long. And Levitre plays like a 15 year old HS kid.

Yeah, Charlie has had ample time to throw on most downs. Every once in a while thoug Levitre or Warmack get driven into the QB's lap or they straight up forget to block a guy. With Met's slow feet that might be a problem.
