I'm not misrepresenting anything. You want Mett now, right? Game six of the 2014 regular season and you want Whiz to start a sixth-round rookie "just to see what he's got".

Do you honestly believe he gives the Titans the best chance of winning? Of course he doesn't. So, in order for you to get what you want, you're asking Whiz to put him in and a better player on the bench… that's tanking any way you look at it.

Do correct me if I'm wrong by explaining how it isn't tanking to play Mett moving forward over Locker or CBJ.

Because Locker is hurt and will be hurt. And while CBJ MIGHT understand the offense better, he has zero chance to be the future franchise QB. If you need to call it "tanking" by all means be my guest. I call it building.

Mettenberger doesn't have it between the ears. He's got the physical gifts...he's tall, strong, big arm, decent accuracy....... but he just doesn't have it between the ears. He's a bust waiting to happen.

How can you call a 6th rounder a bust? If he's not any good he's just a 6th rounder.

Not necessarily a bust in that he came out with high expectations......Just a bust in the sense that a lot of TN fans that I've spoken with expect him to be a strong QB in the future. A few buddies from back home in Bristol think that his physical traits will make him a strong optoin for whiz moving forward.

But we know that ain't going to happen. The kid is a dunce.

Football players dont need to be geniuses, its football.

He's shown he knows how to run a pro style offense, and trust me, Philip Rivers is no genius either, he and Whiz lite it up last year in SD.

He doesn't need to be a genius, but he needs to have a good football IQ and he has to be able to conceptualize a complex defense and read it appropriately. That is why the Wonderlic is such an integral part of looking at NFL QB's in particular.

He could run a pro style offense at LSU...BFD. He isn't playing against the SEC anymore. Granted that is the BEST preparation one could play against in the NCAA, the difference in talent, speed, strength, and complexity is night and day. On top of that...comparing Philip Rivers to Zack Mettenberger is like comparing beef jerky to filet mignon. C'mon man!

I've watched every throw Mett attempted in college. I believed he grew into a first round talent last year under Cam Cameron's pro style offense. I think the acl and the pot got him dropped to the 6th rd. I feel if Jake is hurt, then he is the best option to win today and should start.
