Yeah, if only we were rolling with Christian Ponder.......ok....never mind.

All squirrels find nuts once in a while....not all of them spike the nut every time they find it.

Both guards are bad. Warmack is struggling and Levitre is the new Amano

I have not seen any of the traits that would make me say he is ever going to be a special lineman. I don't see him mauling/pancaking guys. When he pulls or tries to get to the second level he is often just a little late which totally screws up the whole play. I don't see him being a great communicator with the guys next to him and don't see him using his smarts to set up defenders. A guy like Mawae wasn't the strongest, but he was smart and savvy which he used to his advantage.

My hope is that Warmack turns into a solid OG in the league. At this point I wouldn't think that he grades out in the top 50%. I don't think he has a prayer of being a Hutchinson/Matthews type of player which is what you want when you draft an OG in the top 10. At least we didn't draft Cooper even earlier like the Cardinals. He has been a total bust with his injuries/attitude.

Look at Warmack in college. Guy played high all the time, fortunately for him he was just bigger and stronger than everyone he played against. That doesn't work for you when you're going up against the best of the best.

Some stats through week 5 from football outsiders...

Our OL ranks 27th in pass protection and 12th in run blocking.

On the run blocking we are ranked 15th when running over LT, 8th when running over OG/C, and 21st when running over RT.

    For what it is worth...

So our O-Line are OK when being the aggressors on running plays but we're getting beaten to the punch on pass protection. How much of that is down to Locker and Whitehurst taking too long to pull the trigger?

I don't know but I do know that stats without context never show the true picture.

And nasty as hell. That seems to be a thing we're lacking, a mean streak like Stewart had. Lewan looks to have it, but the rest seem like a bunch of nice guys blocking out there... there should be nothing nice about playing in the trenches.

thanks for your insight. maybe he can speed up. At least since he's durable (knock on wood) maybe he can have a chance (no pun) to improve some. I thank you again bro.
