So you think if the front office called Whis and said, "Hey Whis, tank the season" that Whis would comply?

Coaches want to win period. Tanking a season does nothing for Whis's resume with or without the Titans (in other words, in the future).

We seem like a team with no heart. Losing close games like this I see very few players busting their butts to make a play. I see stankey, walker, Lewan, Williamson, wright, Casey, klug, trying to make a difference. Other looks like they going through motions. I know we can't turn our whole roster around in one year but surely someone else could step up and make plays .

Wycheck was kinda saying the same thing on the radio this morning. He said it looks like there's no comradery and guys are just kinda going through the motions. Also said that there doesn't appear to be anyone willing to step up and lead.

Whisenhunt is truly lost in translation since coming to Nashville. He played to lose on Sunday. Three straight running plays and a punt at the end of the game, putting the emphasis ALL of the defense to make a game winning STOP ? This isn't Seattle Ken, and this Ray Horton defense in a long, long, way from becoming a top ten consistent unit.

What a terrible result after waiting ALL off-season long, to see this NEW and IMPROVED culture change here in Nashville. How disappointing !

Amazing how so many of us now realize (now), maybe Munchak was on to something, sooner than later, and maybe needed his fourth year to take the next step.

I think he probably would if they said "you're fired if you don't." If he won't, fire him and give the job to someone who will. The Titans need a complete rebuild.

You are correct that, for various reasons (not all of them rational), tanking isn't a thing in the NFL. NBA teams are smart enough to know when it's a good idea to tank (and they have a draft lottery so finishing last doesn't even guarantee the top pick!). I would like to see an NFL team wake up and realize that tanking is occasionally the best strategic move. I would LOVE to see the Titans be progressive in that area and lead the charge.

But it's the Titans. They will never be progressive or the first to arrive at any good idea.

Yes, but honestly, what is there to tank for? Who coming out in the draft can you guarantee will be a NFL level starter from the get go?

    No one! :banjump:

We're seriously better off not taking 1 of those 2 guys being hyped beyond belief, neither come off as NFL ready to me.

We'd probably be better off grabbing one of the more traditional QB's not in the top 5 picks.

It's not when you pick it's who you pick.

It doesn't matter if we pick 3rd overall if we take VY. It doesn't matter if we middle of the rounds if we take Chris Henry and Paul Williams.

You are a naive if you think any coach is going to purposefully lose games. Whis hasn't impressed me though so if the front office has a guy to bring in I wouldn't complain if he was fired immediately. I think this is basically a throwaway season anyway. But we've obviously made major changes last offseason and there will clearly be major changes again next offseason, even moreso in player personnel than this year I think.

Never in my life have I just sat there during an Oilers/Titans game without any type of emotion.

This season has been one of the worst seasons for me as a fan, and it's still early in the season.

We are putting out a 3-13 team on the field each Sunday.

2015 NFL season can't come any quicker.
