Not to rain on your parade, but this is a meaningless argument. There are and will be college QB's with better stats who wont even play in the NFL. Plus, unlike the NFL, your college team, division, and the athletes that surround you have a huge impact on your stats. Who were Met's starting WR's last year compared to Jake's as a sr? There is a lot more parity in the NFL but even here, there can be dramatic differences in talent. In college that difference can be ridiculously huge.

Bottom line is they are different players both on and off the field. They both have strengths and weaknesses.

Again, you're trying to compare apples to oranges and then a batch of apples from new york to a batch of oranges from california. It doesn't work.

College is a very different game from the NFL which is why there are MANY very successful even great college QB's that don't even go to the NFL let alone become stars there.

The talent LEVEL of a player is subjective but also remember Locker is playing in a new system this year and the whole team minus maybe Walker has been very inconsistent. From OL to run game to our WR's (who got called to the carpet seemingly weekly)...all of this messes with your QB play and our QB's have enough issues of their own. This is how you end up with a very inconsistent offense which we have seen with both Locker and Whitehurst and CW KNOWS the offense...yet we see the same issues...lack of protection, WR's not getting open, which leads to sacks and the QB's holding the ball too long. So the QB's have issues but the whole team has had issues so none of this discussion can be taken by itself.

So again, the point of this thread is moot because it's not a good way to compare QB's and projecting those stats to mean anything in the NFL game is useless. The only thing you can compare are attributes of both players but a lot of that is very subjective...especially when it comes to reading defenses, going through progressions and the like.

I'd rather have Mett as my college QB, but Locker played for UW when it was a total dumpster fire. Something like one other offensive player even drafted and it was a 5th round tackle or something.

First, the only difference between a 1st rd pick and an undrafted free agent is perception. Sure, you can point at numbers like 40 time or bench press or bodyfat % or vertical jumps...but players are playing a game, not running races. It is why 1st round picks bust and undrafted free agents become starters or even stars.

So no one should think that Mett is terrible because he was a 6th rnd pick just as Locker shouldn't be looked at as Hall of Fame material because he was a high first rnd pick. Teams...a lot of teams make bad picks (and usually pay for them).

Mett could be a Hall of Fame QB or not NFL material. What he did in college proves nothing towards these possiblities. At this point, he is starting Sunday and he will have to prove it on the field. Just like Jake or CW had to because the proof is in the pudding. About the only thing being a high rnd draft pick gets you is more chances because the GM doesn't wanna look bad, but no matter who you are (Tom Brady included), you have to do it on the field!

Ya, but wreckless did not cause his last injury, although another run to the endzone may have put him out permanently. He just had TERRIBLE luck.

And if we do oh well. Season is over anyway. There will definitely be growing pains. And at least holding on to the ball too long is something that is fixable.
