One should understand that teams frequently don't play to their level of talent. Some teams excel well over what they have and others do much worse.

The Titans record is poor and definitely IMO worse than our talent level. For example, our OL has a ton of money and high draft choices yet can't seem to protect well nor pass block well and is playing way below there ability. I thought our WR's would be a strength this year with a 1st rnd pick, a high 2nd rnd pick and Nate Wash who was very solid last year but they have significantly underperformed. Justin Hunter has shown flashes but been more inconsistent. Nate has taken a serious step back this year considering he has dropped 2 TD's and wasn't even looking for a 3rd one that hit him in the belly.

We have middle of the pack talent but have played like a bottom 5-10 team. We have...in small doses, played very well. A good example of this is the Cincy game. The final score was bad but we had the opportunity to make the plays to be close or even win that game. When players underperform...is it because they don't have the talent or because they aren't executing.

When you see the Pats get shellacked but come out the next week and beat someone down, you knew it was an execution factor. For us, it's harder to tell because of our lack of consistency (which is execution).

And to make matters worse is our untimely penalties, which have cost us dearly.

That is "Discipline" and that is on the coaches

Even with all the crap that has happened up to today....we could have been 4-3 (Browns/Wash) looking at this season differently.

Seems to be a consistent issue for this team for the past 10+ years.

In my opinion, it's dudes like griffin. He seems like an uncoachable player. For the last 7 years, week in, week out same mistakes, same story. Instead of getting rid of him, drafting a replacement, and mentoring them to be coach able, they go out and try to draft 1 or 2 guys to turn things around. The culture of the Titans isn't to coach players up. They hit lucky with Finnegan, haynesworth, etc but they have more guys no live up to expectations that guys that exceed them.

We are not a rebuilding team until we replace the Griffins and Morgan's and Levitries on the team and replace them with young, coach able players who will be good in a few years.

We get lucky and Mett turns out to be a stud, it'll be less painful and faster but if he isn't the long term solution next 3 years will need to be a youth movement and a big time coaching test for Whiz

Draft spot and contract size are not necessarily indicative of actual talent level though. Perhaps we've just made some really bad picks and handed out some really bad contracts?

    This season, so far:

    Top 3 teams committing penalties:

    Pitt
    New England
    Denver

Guess those coaches need to go. Even though all 3 will likely be in the playoffs.

    Fewest penalties in the league:

    Jacksonville
    Kansas City

    Best coaches ever?

I just thought it was interesting.
