Titans vs Texans: Postgame Talk

Guys...let's face it. Metts first half was horrrible. On par with Jakes worst games this year. Second half...looked much better. Obviously the d loosened up but he still made the plays. Hell hopefully be able to look like the second half the whole game in two weeks. He better not take a day off between now and then.

What first half did you watch??? Yes Mettenburger made some mistakes, but the reason why they couldn't get anything going was because of the offensive line! They couldn't stop the penalties which put the offense in the hole on every series... Yes, Peyton, Tom B. and a few other can over-come those mistakes, but we have a Rookie! Let's not forget that.

So no, he didn't have a horrible first half, and because of the offensive line, I'm not really going to grade his performance either way.

 

The OL is pitiful, but dang, this team lacks mental toughness in a lot of areas. When will more line-up changes occur to try get better results? I would make some OL changes for sure. Spencer and Stingly sure couldn't be worse.

 

That's been the entire season.

Who plays QB on this team doesn't matter when the other 10 guys on offense take turns ****ing **** up.

At least Levitre didn't have a penalty today!

 

I thought Mett did really well for his first game. I was really surprised how much composure he had in the pocket, didn't get rattled at all. He definitely has the arm and just needs consistent 1st team reps to get used to his WR's and TE's.

The OL of the Titans is just plain embarrassing.

The team going to get on buses and go see movies after today's loss? If so drop off half our team at the airport, pink slips and plane tickets in hand.

 

Whiz is a horrible coach. His play calling might be as vanilla as Frodo Loggains. He challenges the stupidest calls that anyone of us on here wouldn't even do. He think he is a know it all and takes credit for **** he shouldn't.

He got credit for his success in Arizona when in reality, Warner came him and made him alter the playbook. So in a way, Warner was actually coaching him.

He got credit for Phillip Rivers resurgence. Nope, give Mike McCoy credit. McCoy > Whisenhunt.

Does he get credit for Roethlisberger? First 2 years he looked good, but Cowher is also considered one of the better HC there has been. He also pretty much had Ben in a game manager role. That Steelers team had a great run game and defense. Hand the ball of to Bettis/Parker and tell your young QB don't turn over the ball cause the defense will hold teams to 13 or less points a game.

There is also a reason why after Cowher retired, the Steelers hired Tomlin to take over instead of promoting Whisenhunt from OC to HC for that organization.

I have a gut feeling this hiring is going to continue to set this franchise back.

 

Ya...his first half sucked. Much improved in the second. He fave the ball away twice and couldn't convert a third down. Yea the ol put the us in bad positions but mett missed on throws he'd usually make

 

What, exactly, is Whiz doing wrong?


I know that Washington is going to be everyones first complaint, but compare him to the other RB's catching out of the backfield today. Go look it up. Washington was better than everyone but the WR's. (excluding that sissy ass Hunter)


Ill be the first to admit, I hated his play call on the 2 point conversion, but I want some specifics to argue other than "he sucks".

 

Two of Washington's catches were wins for the defense. Caught a 15-yard dump off on 3rd and 17 or something and then caught another dump off on fourth and long that had no chance of converting.

Good numbers, but he still sucks.
