They both coached the Titans, so yes its fine to compare them.

Here's the difference as to why I can put up with Whisenhunt doing poorly though; he has a plan. Munchak had no direction, he went where the wind was blowing him. Munchak was always lost at sea, Whisenhunt will get us somewhere sooner than Munchak ever would. Be patient, the good times are ahead.

Not at all. Whiz has had 1 off-season to establish "his system", many of the players are left over from Munchs system. We also switched from 4-3 to 3-4, which takes more than an off-season. Not to mention, Whiz has had garage at the most important position... QB. Give him atleast 2 full seasons before we start calling for his head.

"We also switched from 4-3 to 3-4, which takes more than an off-season. "

You mean one off season and 8 games and we still suck. So how did the 49ers improve so much with the switch when Harbaugh became coach? How did the Texans go from one of the worst defenses in the league to one of the best in 2011?

How about the cowboys this year?

Apparently reality doesn't agree with you.

The long transition from a 4-3 defense to the 3-4...

    49ers from 2010 to 2011

16th in total defense to 2nd.

    Texans 2010 to 2011

29th in total defense to 4th

    Saints from 2012 to 2013

32nd in total defensed to 4th

    Cowboys 2013 to 2014

32nd in total defense to 13th

    Yeah real tough transition there.

While the results we're seeing on the field are inexcusable, don't sit there and act like it's the norm for teams to completely change systems and immediately come on like gangbusters.

You're also failing to acknowledge the talent level of those teams as compared to us. Perhaps Cowboys aside, all of those teams had significantly more talent than we do.

I just gave you 4 examples. The defensive side of the ball was bolstered by numerous free agent signings to make that transition. Woods, Woodyard, Phillips, Ropati, Resigning of Wimbley. We signed Hill, Pollard,
Wilson last year. We have not even played an elite offense yet.
