People said the same thing about the 2011 draft.

Remember how pumped we were after the 2011 season? Locker looked good in relief. Akeem Ayers looked like he had promise. Jurrell Casey was getting a lot of PT. Colin McCarthy was playing like a man possessed. Klug was getting sacks left and right. Tommie Campbell was a special teams demon.

One guy ended up being good. So disappointing.

We can only hope. I dont think we will be rid of RW until we get rid of Whis.

Lewan looks good. Sankey looks okay, we wont really know until we have one of those offensive line things.

Williams, imo, has exceeded any expectations I would have of him.

If we hit on Mett, thats 4 people that are starters for quite some time.

You are correct though, it can always go downhill.

People are talking like Mettenberger might be a legit starter. I know it's nice to be hopeful and everything (I am, too), but what are the realistic chances of it? Maybe 5%?

Chances in any drafted QB are what? Good thing is if he pans out he is a 6th round pick if he don't we have not wasted a high pick . Drafting QB is a crap shoot .

You cannot see injuries coming but I'd go %50. The guy has all the skills and took a decent pounding in the pocket vs Houston and still kept hanging in there. He will take some time, but he has a decent shot to be the GUY

We dont need him to be Manning, Rivers, or Rodgers. We just need him to be good enough to score points. I think once the game slows down a bit, he will improve more and more.

All game, you could tell the WR's were surprised how fast the ball got to them. Once they get used to each other, I think Mett has a real chance. I think the odds are better than 5%.

This would be the best case scenario. Can you imagine how our defense would improve if we got either of the top 2 pass rushers this draft?

    Assuming they went that direction.

McCourty would be a probowler if we had a pass rush.

When I read stuff like this it makes me glad I'm a NYr!

The problems in this article are too numerous to list and show a clear LACK of understanding how the NFL works in the salary cap era. Sure I know he understands their is a cap and all that, but in this era teams will not always keep good players as they can only spend so much as is the case with a player like Verner.

But this Hits, Misses, type stuff is laughable. For example...Verner was a 4th round pick, became a starter and then a Pro Bowl cb. He's a hit. Byron Stingily, a 6th pick who's been a career backup and is not even starter material...is a HIT? Coty Sensabaugh and Mike Martin are hits? Stafford is a hit while players who have started and contributed more are not? Keep in mind I'm not trying to say who is good and who isn't...just that there seems to be no obvious logic or reasoning in who gets put where.

In some drafts he talks about how many starters it produced but not in the most recent ones because ironically enough, in one draft we got 4 starters and 2 backups compared to another that produced 2 starters and 3 backups. Guess which class got the higher rating....
