Some of this blame needs to go on the scouts as well??? They are the ones on the road rating these players on a day to day basis. Maybe management needs to look into that and get a new crew out there......

Also blaming the equipment mgr as well for not ordering longer cleats so Justin and Kendall would stop slipping out there.

T-Rac needs to be evaluated as well and who the heck is picking our chearleaders these day....that needs upgrading as well.

Top to bottom evaluation needs to be put in order!

Im on record wanting Larry Warford at 41 where we would have been if Justin Hunter wasn't traded up for, but after taking Chance that would never have happened.

Larry Warford wasn't even drafted til the 3rd round, he would have absolutely been there for us in the 2nd.

However there's no guarantees in the draft, we needed a guard desperately bad and the piece seemed to fit. Im down on Chance as of late, but he does have the goods to be special. He's just lazy.

The best GMs don't care about backlash. Ted Thompson in Green Bay almost never takes the player all the fans want him to take. Sometimes he goes way off the board and takes a guy out of left field. Then that guy turns out to be Randall Cobb and all the fans go "hmmm... yeah maybe we don't actually know what we're talking about and Ted does."

A good GM makes the right call regardless of what the fans or media expect him to do.

How does that negate what I said in any way? That has nothing to do with what I'm talking about.

It has everything to do with what youre talking about.

Youre suggesting Webster does the obvious thing when drafting and that makes him a bad GM, and that Ted Thompson is the best because he doesn't.

Webster took Lewan despite being set at Tackle this last draft. He knew what was best for the team too.

That's not what I'm suggesting at all. Please read what I wrote.

I was responding to the notion (put forth by someone else) that Webster and Munch drafted Warmack because of outside pressure. I don't know if they did and never claimed to. You imagined that part.

What I'm arguing is that a GM should never make a pick because of pressure from the fans or media to take a particular guy.

Please... I beg you... stop inventing what you think I argued and respond to what I actually wrote.

You said "The best GMs don't care about backlash" and implied Webster doesn't do this.

But didn't he draft a Tackle this year when he was thought to have no business doing so?
