This season is over, IMO. Everything moving forward is about 2015 and beyond. But I think it's fair to have expectations even in a lost season. Here are a few of mine...

    1. Find out if Mett is the future and either commit to him going into '15 or move on. Mett is going to get the opportunity to show if he's the man and there should be no doubts at the end of this season as to whether or not he's the answer. If he is, QB won't be considered early in the next draft and the focus will be on many of the other multiple areas of need.

IMO, the worst thing which can happen is for Mett to flash one game, followed by a horrible game, etc. and the Titans go into the off-season uncertain. Or, Mett gets injured and misses too many games the second half.

    2. I want to see Hunter as much as possible the second half of the season. He either needs to show he has some chemistry with Mett and can become a consistent receiver or it's time to look for a better option to start opposite Wright in '15. If the goal is to truly evaluate Hunter, he has to play even when he's playing poorly.

    3. As far as I'm concerned, Levitre is playing for his future in these final 8 games. There would be $6.3M in dead money if he's cut next season but I would not hesitate to release him, flip Warmack over to the left side and move on. I think we must see improvement from Schwenke and Warmack as well but I'm a little more tolerant of inconsistent play from guys in their second season vs. someone with the experience of Levitre.

    4. Blidi Wreh-Wilson needs to show improvement to the point the Titans are not forced to target CB in the first two rounds or go after a top free agent. He's flashing now but consistency is the issue.

    5. Can Williamson continue to play at a high level? The guy looks like the steal of the draft right now. If he continues at this pace, and Brown can return healthy, I feel a lot better about the LBs heading into '15.

    6. The final thing I need to see is this team developing some character. I'm not convinced Whiz has done anything to improve this team at all in this regard. Even in tanking, we should be seeing this team play hard to the end of games and showing heart. There should never be a question of effort.

I am not sure what to expect. We should all be behind Mett and hope he does show he can be the guy at QB. We have way too many holes to fill and if Mett can be the man it would take a huge weight off. We need to spend that 1st round pick on defense in a very bad way. I know QB is the most important position on the field and if Mett is not the answer we must use a 1st on QB, but IMO if we can use the 1st on defense and get an actual play maker it would go a long way to helping this team.

I am not saying that you go with Mett if there are questions at the end of the season. I think that if there are questions then really you already know the answer. If there is any doubt about Mett at the end of the season you have to take a QB. I REALLY hope Mett shocks me and the rest of the world and is the guy we have been looking for. This defense needs playmakers and so does the offense. If he can be the man it would make a huge difference to this team.

I think something you hit on here that not many are thinking about is WR. After this season we will be VERY thin at the position. It will have to be addressed thoroughly through FA or the draft. Hunter has to break out in the last half of the season or we need 2 starters IMO. Nate is done and should be at this point. We need a deep threat and a 3rd IMO if Hunter doesn't break out. Counting on him again next season would be a mistake if he cannot show he is worthy this season.

    The o-line to improve

It's like every week I think this might be the week they get it together. I've given up most hope on them. It sucks investing so much into something and get nothing in return.

Mett of course. He will probably be the biggest reason I tune into the games on Sunday.

I want to see Wright get it going, I'm kinda done with Hunter. No hands at all.

How many receivers have you known that had hand problems and was able to improve on them?? Honest question because I can't think of any.

Hopefully no serious injuries this second half.

Defensive rookies to step up on Defense. That's about it for me.

    I expect To be disappointed.

I hope Mett looks great not average because I'm sick of average. But we will never know because it's hard to throw from your ass.

I want to see our gaurds play well for once. Fat chance on that happening.

Hunter I don't want to give up on you but yeah I expect we all will

I expect the defense to play hard but be too tired to make a difference.

I expect multiple stupid drive killing penalties and drive extending penalties from the aforementioned tired defense.

I expect Leon Washington to continue to suck at football.

I expect Micheal Griffin to keep being Michelle without Pollard to hold him accountable.

I expect Casey to beast for the first 3 quarters every game but one man can only do so much.

I expect to win one game at the end of the season that puts us in a horrible draft position we do it every year.

If this can extend to the off season I expect the wrong player to be drafted in the first but to get a steal in the 4th or 5th

I expect to see Mett get better. Yes I am an optimist . But the dude wasn't deer in the headlights against watt and co. Could be a long second half but would expect we beat the teams we should beat and be more competitive against the good teams. Yes I know people are wanting to lose to get a better draft slot, but I hate to lose. Plus would like to see some fire and fight from these players. If that don't happen, 2015 we could be looking at the same thing. We are rebuilding but we need to have a team with heart. The young players who are rookies are stepping up , would like to see more do so. Maybe I asking too much but, a fan can wish. Go Titans.

TJ and others have some very good suggestions here. My only adds are the following:

    1. See McCluster get some consistent chemistry in the Offense. I feel like we are really not utilizing him at this point.

    2. See Sankey get "feature back" level of opportunities in order to evaluate what our needs are at RB.

    3. See some improvement from Whis on game day coaching decisions, such as challenge calls.

I look forward to the Mett evaluation, as well as offseason moves (which I expect to be extensive here).

Yes the way some have played first half of season , have to step up or won't be here for next season. Could be very many new faces around here next year if not play better football.

Depends on what we see from Mett... In my opinion.
