Vols arent out of it yet

    Still got 3 games left.

meaningful games in November. Been a few seasons. Bigger point is doing it without criminals and crap.

I actually like to see the Vols be successful but all of the SEC chanting UT fans bring it on themselves.

What does last year have to do with this year? They lost off a fluke play to Auburn and didn't show up for the Sugar Bowl (but showed up enough to have 5 turnovers). Totally different team this year. They lost to Ole Miss after a botched kick off, on the road and against Ole Miss which is a pretty good team. Considering Bama has struggled on the road all year, the LSU game was huge. LSU at home and at night, is possibly the toughest venue in all of college football. Especially for it to be a rivalry. Off season I had Bama at 11-1 with the one loss at Ole Miss and a question mark by LSU. See no reason to change that now, I said if we beat LSU then we're winning out. MSU and Auburn at home, I like our chances. Oh and winning is winning, ask FSU and Auburn over the past couple of years.

"didn't show up for the Sugar Bowl"...

No, they showed up. They just got their teeth kicked in.

But alas... any time the SEC wins in a bowl- they dominated! Any time they lose- Uhhh... they didn't care!

    Riiiiight.

Well true I understand you rooting against the sec now. We all know if Ohio played an sec team in the playoff all they'd do is lose poorly

I think we would win the SEC east. Probably not the west.

I don't believe in Miss St yet, but we will see. Right now we would lose to Alabama, Ole Miss, maybe Auburn.

A&M and LSU would be tough games to win.

We have one of the best offenses with Barrett stepping up big. defense is suspect at best. But we have the talent.

So I can't base any opinion of a team off of anything that that team did last season but I'm supposed to give all SEC teams undue credit every year and accept that the SEC is" OmG ThE BeSt CoNfErEnCE EvAr!" based on national championships won in the past decade?

Which is it? You can't pick and chose when to consider stuff relevant to fit your narrative.

You are giving Ole Miss and Auburn way too much credit. At this point in the season, I'd take Ohio State on a neutral field over either of them. Auburn just lost to A&M who put up the following stat line against LAMonroe:

There is a certain respect and reputation gained when a conference wins championship after championship. That really has nothing to do with nitpicking a team's performance against certain teams in certain years. For example, when FSU beat Notre Dame and didn't jump to #1, that's because of the SEC. That decision was based off the past few years and giving the benefit of the doubt. But how many people are still talking about the Sugar Bowl last year? No one. Comparing a team's past and a conference's past is a bit different.

No one team has really made me say wow yet. I don't think MSU is the true #1 team and they'll fall this weekend in Tuscaloosa. FSU has struggled in almost every game this year, yes they're winning and not knocking them for that but just like I said in my last post I'm not comparing them to their season last year. This year I see a team that's a fringe top 5. Oregon is the same as every year, escape a couple scares and run up the score against everyone else. TCU has been pretty impressive but it's the Big 12. Usually whoever has the ball last wins. Baylor, see TCU. Arizona State has been alright. Ohio State had a nice win against Michigan State but their schedule is worse than some ACC schools.
